That’s not how that works. Not giving an order and just letting something happen is not the same as giving a direct order.
If John and Joe are running a business equally, and Joe decides to start up a business venture with another company, John not stepping in doesn’t mean John ordered the business venture to continue. It just means he didn’t step in.
That you think Lor’themar and Kael’thas were equals in the governing of Quel’Thalas is incorrect. The premise for your analogy is flawed. Lor’themar followed Kael’thas’ orders.
No, he was not. You’re misremembering the scenario that unlocked the Mag’har allied race. Grommash never ordered Geya’rah to join the Horde. Geya’rah volunteered along with a small group of soldiers and Grom gave her his blessing to do so. In reality, had the Lightbound not attacked, that’s all that would have been sent back to Azeroth. Geya’rah and a small group of other Mag’har, not the remaining survivors of their species from Beastwatch.
That is not what a faction leader is.
Faction leaders are NPCs that ‘lead’ the actual factions. So Thrall, up until Cataclysm, was the faction leader of the Orcs. Cairne, up until Cataclysm was the faction leader of the Tauren etc.
Varimathras, Nazgrim and Nathanos were never leaders of a faction. They were important NPCs within a faction, but not faction leaders. If you’re going down the route of important NPCs to a faction being ‘faction leaders’ then we can add a ton of other NPCs to the ‘Faction Leader’ pool, including:
Kael’thas did not give any order for the Blood Elves to join the Horde. He was advised of a possible alliance by Rommath, that’s it. The actual decision for the Blood Elves to join the Horde was made by Lor’themar.
End of story.
You can keep believing your own headcanon if you wish, but with respect to actual lore, Kael’thas was not involved in that decision.
Now that might change in the future, Blizzard might clarify and say “Yes, Kael’thas ordered it, but then decided to ultimately join the Burning Legion.” but until they DO say that, he was not involved.
They’ve confirmed in a dev QnA it was a lot more than just the handful with us at the time. They have substantial forces in Azeroth.
I’m sorry, but I consider him giving his people permission to go join the Horde as him giving the Horde the thumbs up and we’ll just have to disagree on that.
A faction leader is a fandom term, it is not an official term. “Faction leader” means whatever the speaker intends it to mean. That would be me.
Uhh, yeah, because literally all the survivors of Beastwatch were brought over via portal as a result of the Lightbound attack, which I literally mentioned.
It’s literally an official term that Blizzard has used to describe various important NPCs, namely those who have led races or factions. Sorry, but you’re wrong here.
Because it wasn’t covered in Blood of the Highborne, it was covered in The Burning Crusade expansion when he literally sends you, the player, to go and notify the Horde leadership that Darkan Drathir is dead, which was the test that the Blood Elves were given to prove themselves eligible to join.
After you do that, the Blood Elves are officially recognized as members of the Horde.
And nothing in that entire experience made it sound like it was Lor’themar’s decision or idea, and not Kael’thas’. There had been confusion at the time about whether Kael’thas was even still in contact with Azeroth, but Blood of the Highborne clarified he was, and was even aware (if not the one whom had decided) of the negotiations to have Quel’Thalas join the Horde.
Again, the official lore states that Lor’themar made the decision. Kael’thas was informed, but that’s it.
You can believe your own headcanon if you like, but the actual lore is clear.
I’m done playing this game with you. If you don’t want to accept the lore, that’s fine, but you don’t get to make your own and claim that it’s the true lore.
I didn’t suggest otherwise. I’ll quote myself for you, with emphasis on the bit you missed:
phys·i·ol·o·gy | \ ˌfi-zē-ˈä-lə-jē \
1: a branch of biology that deals with the functions and activities of life or of living matter (such as organs, tissues, or cells) and of the physical and chemical phenomena involved
It’s more absurd that you’ve produced an eight paragraph response to a notion I didn’t even proffer — you’re arguing about psychology, I spoke to physiology.
But in belf defense they are seemingly a magically craving species and their “diet” as shown with fel gave them green eyes, so that would suggest some change, their species is defined as having changed shape due to the pursuit of arcane knowledge and hunger afterall.
There is also some demons in game who have devoured void and took on a more voidy appearance, and blood elves like demons are known to feed on magic.
There is even a pitlord who changed to purple after gorging himself to excess on arcane magic.
How can you deny the truth?? Blizz hates the alliance and it is true!! look what garbage they gave us with what they call allied races. Lightforged & Mechagnomes should have been additional customization options.
There was nothing creative about the alliance allied races, the horde got unique races while we just got additional customization options for existing races and blizz called it a new race.
