I got the mount yesterday and did not use curses.
Been playing pretty much since launch (minus Cata and left during Shadowlands - didn’t like either). I have never gotten the mount.
At this point, I don’t think I even want to try with the special events, anymore. It’s farming with alts, plus a load of disappointment when they don’t drop.
Pissed players don’t kill games - apathy does. And I really don’t care anymore.
That’s how RNG works. If you play long enough, your odds will even out, whether from good → crummy or crummy → good.
Not true - Been playing pretty much since launch - played with alts, ran the material over and over (yearly, for what…15-18 years?) and NOPE. Nada.
My odds have NEVER evened out.
Anything that is older than 2 expansions old should either be purchasable via Traders Tender or real Cash in the shop.
Hell, I’d rather PAY money to Blizzard than have to jump through stupid hoops for Twitch and Amazon drops as well.
FOMO and RNG suck. Period.
I’m talking about people who farm lots of different mounts on lots of alts. One mount you can be unlucky on. Other mounts you might get much sooner. It’s the aggregate of your mount attempts that matters. I had rare mounts I got quickly and others that went way over probability. That’s how distribution works.
I like this idea a lot. That’s how it was with the MoP Scenarios and it was fun for everyone! 3 people queued in, regardless of spec, and were able to knock out their daily ones in a decent amount of time for their daily Valor. You’d think these newer Devs would take a page or two from the older systems that actually WORKED well and made players HAPPY!
I’m not arguing that this is how distribution works. I’m saying that some people’s accounts are favored over others. Or at least, it appears to be so.
This SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE. We all pay the exact same money for the game, we should all have the same opportunities and similar results. Again - no respect for my time, or money.
And yes - I’ve been playing the better part of 20 years (not super hardcore)- I have lots of alts. Worst luck ever? Or crap game design? Perhaps a bit of both? I’m at the point where I don’t care.
I care just enough to gripe about it, apparently.
There are times when I would have agreed with you. But to isolate “What is this about my account that would cause me to be favored?”, usually there is no answer.
I have had unaccountable strings of luck, and then…
After the release of Shadowlands to players who had previously purchased a license, I got a mind-boggling number of rare Shadowlands mounts. I hypothesized that someone had decided to increase the drop rate for such mounts for people like me on the likelihood that we were probably running old content for mounts - which I was.
Or maybe I was just really lucky.
Well i’m happy for you. It look like its on the same drop chance as the Horse that it will take 10 years to get. I’m glad you hit the jack pot twice.
