I bought the time traveller outfit from the blizz shop when it first came out, and that cloak is probably my most used transmog item. I can’t even find anything for the rest of the outfit to integrate into, but the plain black cloak is amazing.
Disclaimer: As a pink-themed Panda, I’m grateful that we got some kind of new pseudo-pink-colored items at all, and I am wearing some of them…BUT…
Well, I wish the Rosy-colored additions leaned much more towards standard pink or hot pink than the much, much too blue-tinted muave-like and magenta-near colors these new items have and the salmon-esque colors of some of the older items we already had in the game.
Let me present to you some the average colors for the pink-areas on “pink”-themed items in the game compared to the following colors on wikipedia: standard pink, hot pink, mauve, and magenta.
First the color standards:
Pink #FFC0CB:
Hot Pink #FF69B4:
Mauve #E0B0FF:
Magenta #FF00FF:
Now the average color for the pink parts of the new items:
Rosy Corsage #996A66:
Wanderer’s Rosy Cloak #A14883:
Iridescent Warcloak #FFBAFC:
(only the top-X of not-quite-pink color because the bottom half is obviously more purple)
Dracthyr Primary Color #D2657A:
Some older items:
Pandaren female pink hair swatch #D84196:
Crown of Boundless Courage (flower 1) #E76A7D:
Crown of Boundless Courage (flower 2) #A87467:
Bloodscale plate pants #D6606C:
Bloodscale plate chest #BC6C6E:
Stinger of Ayamiss 1h mace #98536A:
Oversized Oblique Ogre Obliterator 2h sword (accent only) #F14376:
Pink Mageweave Shirt #E988A6:
Guild Tabard Pink #BC6E81:
It may seem
Now, I’m not arguing that pink items going forward should be “perfectly pink” or something. I just would like them to be more pink, either a softer, traditional pink nearer to the Guild Tabard pink color or Pink-Mageweave-Shirt/Precious’-Ribbon pink, which is the closest to “true pink”, IMO. I would settle for some items that are purely hot-pink in color, which the Pandaren female hair color highlights and the accents on teh Oversized Oblique Ogre Obliterator are pretty close to.
However, though my posting history would make you think I’m…
…head-over-heels crazy for pink , it isn’t my favorite color (which is actually cerulean blue ), and I actually prefer a salmon color (my second favorite shade after most blues) like this: . So…I do like some of the older items as well as the dracthyr color even if they fail truly meet the standard of pink I would like so that they match my shirt or hair.
We just need more pink colors without the higher blue intensities shifting all of the colors towards mauve, purple, or lavender etc…Then again, my mauve-themed void elf warrior, Movmallia, absolutely loves them. What a conundrum…
Ignoring everything I said above on Pinkylee, I love how the corsage and rosey cloak/pulled-down-hood look combined with my teal and purple transmog on this pally.
I hope they add the new items to the armory soon.
Oh that’s a really great combo. Totes getting 80s glamor rock neon vibes, haha! Rock it!
I thought there was a hooded pink cloak?
Would that not negate the need for a pink helm?
It’s ok I guess… Doesn’t look the best and it’s not really the pink I’d like. Looking more precious ribbon color or the other cloak with gold is nice. It’s more a magenta but it will do. I wouldn’t mind a Valentine’s day themed pink heart eye patch tbh. That could be fun.
It’s sad Blizz has had such a fear of pink gear during the entire life of the game. There’s some but it’s easier to find just about any other color.
Really would like to see more pink, and more orange. Orange is also kinda hard to find, which is sad since I have an alt named Pumpkin and I love Halloween.
Really just makes me miss the dyes in WildStar. RIP WildStar.
Nah nah, let’s ask the real question: Where’s all pink plate transmog like plate stuff.
T3 had a good amount of pink. It also seems to be some of the most rare gear in the game, because I’ve only ever seen a few people mog it since mogging was implemented. To be fair, though, i have T1 on my pally, and i never wear that. Rarely.
I don’t know why but I love your post. So many pink tones
