Money, at the cost of reputation.
they are gaining all this fake gamer out rage and news coverage
First off outrage is one word. Second their name is being slung through the mud because of this with even their own devs who work in Cali protesting about this on 3 separate occasions.
AFTER their ‘protest’ went viral and everyone AND everyone else posts 'Blizz what up? This guy gets it but those guts don’t?"
Kneejerk and totally political.
Skäl.

so back to a company cant protect it self.blizzard should do nothing if a person says support communism on stream they cant ban them?
Banning the first offender for a year and then banning the next offender for forever until you have a chance to think about what they want to do isn’t consistent. It would have looked just like it did leading up to today: Same offense, unequal punishment.
And it might have made the “We’re 'murica and believe in free speech from our corporations!” guys stroke out.
Part of Blitzchung’s punishment was totally consistent with the written guidelines: The loss of his winnings. That is what is written in the rules. Having that punishment recorded in black and white doesn’t seem to have made it more acceptable.
Lord knows my employers sure do.
Totally, totally!
Skäl!
and
because all out of likes.
And? You think everyone is outraged just because he was? People were outraged before he came out with his point of view on the subject. He’s a youtuber that just gives his POV on news events. Everyone knows that.
I enjoy Blizzard games and will admit that I want them to succeed financially.
China is the fastest growing PC and Mobile gaming market and so it makes financial sense for Blizzard to sell there.
The only thing Blizzard has done at this stage (in a round-about way) to maintain that is give people who demonstrate politically on their platform a 6 month ban. Something they are well within their rights to do.
I will not rage, they aren’t objectively worse than any other company and thus I’d be a hypocrite if I boycotted them and not the others; I’m off to play WoW.
Much love!

So I’m curious, you say the news cycle is perpetuating (big word, google it) the outrage for clicks, and that there is “fake gamer outrage”
What do you have to hand-wave away a human rights organization condemning Blizzard?
just wait all the videos for all the youtubers about to come out az,t&e they got to get those clicks.
“Blizz, you punished the Chinese kid too fast!!! Kneejerk and totally political!!!”
“Blizz, you didn’t punish these American kids fast enough!!! Kneejerk and totally political!!!”
Please. ![]()
Some things have no solution or a right to the wrong. Sometimes you just gotta take your lumps and improve. That can’t happen if they dig the hole deeper every other day.
Well we certainly shouldn’t be supporting communism. Especially with a leader who literally stated…
“Anyone who tries to split up China would result in bodies smashed and bones ground to powder”
Why is an American company trying to appease a Communist country?
Guys I know, I know. But I’m interested in his response.
Preaching to the choir.
Sorry.
so how did blizzard violate human rights and freedom of speech again?an esport player injected his personal political views during a live esport event.
blizzard did what and boss would do if you talk bad about your bosses company or them and that doesnt violate freedom of speech.
so tell me how did blizzard violate human rights again?
Just so you know, since you seem to be unaware, that’s a link. You can click on it.
Unless you’re Ganondorf clicking it would be a bad idea.
you tell me they have rules on the books and an esport player gave his personal political views during a live event so you tell me how blizzard violated human right and freedom of speech.
or do you just like being on the blizzard hate train and paying $15 a month.
Oh yes it links to a reddit page of people discussing an article about a statement some human rights organization I’ve never heard of made…
…well I’m convinced!
