What?
Colin Kaepernick has been making a political statement during the preseason by refusing to stand during the playing of the national anthem. He No longer plays in the NFL. Teams in dire need of a Quarterback wont even touch him.
Nike shares fall amid backlash over Colin Kaepernick ads. Nike dropped Kaepernick.
The NFL said F That Noise and so did other organizations. The NBA did the same approach when dealing with the Houston Rockets Owner, who went on his Own Twitter feed and made a Pro Democracy remark which was later removed and now look where the NBA is with the Back lash and dealing with China.
China, provides a Huge Income to a lot of the business here in the states as it does with gaming revenue.
I mean you haven’t a need to look any farther than Hollywood and the amount of pull China has with it’s Movie market. A movie can tank hard in the States, but be a huge success in China. World of Warcraft Movie did just that very thing, it really tanked in the States, but went on to make a lot of money overseas in the Chinese Market.
It’s Warcraft General Discussion. Not a political free for all zone. Try reading forum descriptions.
wonderful explanation.
“What?”
It’s a general topic in the general discussion forum.
Explain how it “doesn’t belong here”
Its almost like the US is like no other country in the world, despite the most ignorant of its citizens espousing its nothing special.
Because this is a Warcraft video game forum?
Say MAGA and/or show a picture of you in a red hat and see how long you have your job…
We really need more. :\
And you think CDew wouldn’t be in the same spot had he done the same thing?
I refer you to my thread title
Like Colin Kaepernick, you mean?
Didnt they do that with that person who was kneeling in american footbal or something?
Corporations will always go for money, and they will attack and try to ruin WHOEVER IS FIGHTING FOR A JUST CAUSE, because they only care about money.
And that is why whoever supports companies who are clearly using an unjust system to their advance is a terrible person i would avoid
My reading of this is…his contract wasn’t revoked. He was suspended. Pro sports franchises suspend players for violating team and league policies all the time.
I do not think they should revoke contracts for what people say on a private account.
If they said it during a national game, then yes.
Context matters though.
moderators. I feel like we haven’t had any in two or three days.
Uh, I don’t care. I really don’t.
You’re saying your thread belongs here… it doesn’t. That’s a fact.
Sure thing, kiddo:

Are you really comparing esports to those organizations?
That same job would high five me if I wore a “pride” shirt and hat.
again…EQUIVALENCY
Exactly. We have grown to take our liberties for granted and begun focusing on non-issues to take the place of real problems.
Thank you very much[quote=“Strife-earthen-ring, post:1, topic:327564”]
If any sports organization (MLB, NFL, NBA, etc.) started revoking contracts whenever a player/coach/whoever used the platform for political purposes would you feel the same way you currently feel about an e sport doing it?

Ask that question to Colin Kaepernick
Yeah, the dude can’t even get a job now. Regardless if he’s better than next quarterback. I am a die hard 49’ers fan and I feel bad for Kap, he chose to take a political stand and it cost him his livelihood.
