Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

I don’t see a sea of people wearing such tee shirts to Blizzcon… I’d also expect if too many of them show up, they’ll start quietly showing them the door.

But the one thing they can’t silence, quite literally, is the crowd’s voice.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the whole crowd start shouting the fellow’s name in unison at some point (probably with the appropriate trigger, which could be the certain person who put out a response no too long ago), and there will be NOTHING they can do about it. Aside from look very uncomfortable on stage, of course.

In any case, it’s safe to say this incident won’t be forgotten by the time Blizzcon goes around… and I’d genuinely be surprised if nothing happened.

You got to the heart of it. Kudos.

I hope not since Blitzchung put out a statement today. I hope people don’t disrespect him enough to invoke his name after he has already given his opinion on everything that went down.

Can I see a link to his statement?

It wont be, not that many people actually care enough. Most people want to go to Blizzcon to have a good time and see some reveals

Certainly!

EDIT: Here is the tweet that link comes from:

Having read the statement, seems you have a point; sounds like he had a few second thoughts about how he approached it and was pleased he managed to get the consequences reduced. Can’t quite blame him much for that at this point.

That being said, there’s a few key details:

  • The statement from Blitzchung will likely not go unnoticed by the majority of people.
  • The official response from Blizz themselves will get more publicity… and it’s not good so far.
  • The whole incident which started this situation was far more successful than ANYONE would have predicted. I don’t think either of the above points will do anything to stop the momentum that it generated in time for Blizzcon.

As I said, I’d be surprised if nothing happens.

I am on the flip side, I will be surprised if anything does happen. I guess we will see which of us is correct in a few weeks. I think, at most, there will be tshirts and signs.

No, not all of us. And the hearthstone players are still pretty interested in this.

Have you seen Blitzchung’s response?

Yes, and Blizzards response, which I still take issue with.

No, I wouldn’t want to make people’s time at blizzcon something they’d regret.

Tbh, Blizzard should bar anyone not wearing blank t-shirts with neutral colors from entering blizzcon to avoid anyone sending any kind of political message.

I’m not a child, so no.

Not a child, But just spineless

Yes, wearing a tshirt totally takes a spine. You are doing great works.

Standing up to a VERY large corporation who has proven that it’s willing to ban anyone who has an opinion takes a spine, so as I said, spineless.

They have proven no such thing.

Actually getting off your butt and contacting people able to affect real change would take a spine. Here is a link with a ton of things you can do if you are really interested in helping Hong Kong.

But, if this is just about Blitzchung, you may want to read this since he is back in love with Blizzard.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to send me links to stuff that I’m already VERY much aware of And involved in, so forgive me that won’t be taking the time to read, is there anything else?
