If you think for a minute I am going to choose video games, much less a specific and declining video game company, over people struggling for their liberty against an oppressive, totalitarian regime, you have lost your minds Blizzard.
Not another dime. Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times!
Agree with everything you’ve said and thank you so much for the twit names to look up.
China is contributing heavily to what is going on now in the US gov’t, with congress vs the WH.
Potus applied tariffs to China in an effort at changing their behaviour, too. That’s one of the reasons they want him gone.
So did Blizzard. They’ve now caused a much, much larger issue for themselves. Should they also forfeit their own tournaments for one year and receive no money?
Great post. It’s just sad that people don’t understand how urgent it is that we deal with China. The tariffs have a huge impact on their economy and effect a few people (mostly subsidized) in the US. China needs to be slowed right down and Western Tech doing the bidding of Chicoms can not be over looked, just like social media. It isn’t Russia with the influence, it is China. Biden, the Dems and many Republicans enrich themselves the same way Blizz will. Many of us have known this and what is happening will hopefully wake more people up to realities that the media tries to spin.
Also… since we started talking about Blizzard’s shareholders… Do a fortune dot com and then a /2018/08/30/chinas-tencent-folds-yet-another-video-game-company-into-its-empire (since I can’t include links in my posts).
If by “a few people,” you mean “soy farmers in the American Midwest”… and by “subsidized” you mean “holy poop we can’t continue to cover the losses if China won’t buy up all this soy we’re going to have no farmers left and the economy will implode!” then yes, I completely agree with you.
Is the Economy imploding? No, it’s doing just fine. Stick to facts. Do you understand what subsidies are? It seems you don’t. China relies on the US much more than the US relies on China.
Subsidies are the US government paying for a thing so that the price consumers pay can be cheaper.
Chuck Grassley has been asking for more farm subsidies for Iowan farmers ever since the tariffs first went into effect.
I thought you would become that weird cat monster form Sleepwalkers if you watch too many Cat videos.
Edit: Some reason, my comments and bunch of others have been moved to this thread. Werid. (i’m probably going to guess, trash bin thread.) Also, what does my first comment replying to Skinwalker’s thread has to with this whole this thread, let alone the whole situation?
Lmao. The stock market fluctuates on word of mouth. You can easily look at a graph and see that it has been performing consistently well. Is a record setting 27,400 what you expect daily? You expect no down spikes, just constant growth? You’re either a fool or willfully trying to spin how well it has been doing. As for subsidies they have gone up since the Tariffs. So the question is, are you lying or ignorant?
Yes. They have gone up. Which means we have been subsidizing more. You are paying for China’s unwanted soy even if you’ve never seen a soy bean in your life.
That is true, the stock market is reactive to events around it. One thing it really likes is stability, which is something that one does not often find in the midst of a trade war.
In other words: the stock market is the canary, not the coal mine.
There are other indicators that seem to agree with the unsteady clip of stock prices. The yield curve inverted in August, and unemployment ticked up by a fraction of a percent over the summer (though it’s still under 4%). Growth across the globe is slowing and the housing market is starting to look like it did in 2007 again.
Basically, depending on who you talk to and what the economic weather is like on a given day, you could either be in the midst of a rosy market forecast in the summer of 1996, or you could be eating breakfast in front of a radio on the morning of October 25, 1929. Which is the economic equivalent of your doctor telling you “hey, lay off the Doritos, my dude, you could literally have a heart attack any minute now.”
I have friends that work at blizzard, so I am perfectly happy with my wow subscription knowing i’m supporting them and a company i’ve loved since i was a young teenager.
However, I don’t buy any extras anymore, until I feel that Blizz humbles themselves and step back and realize that if it wasn’t for this community, they’d be a nothing company with nothing to show for it.
I don’t purchase blizzcon tickets, i don’t purchase in-store items, i won’t be giving a penny to them until they start making changes.
No i don’t care much for the political nonsense going on, and honestly, I’m ignorant in really understanding exactly what is going on.
But I encourage you people to realize that you can be in power and speak with your wallets.
