Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

while I think all the people bleating about hong kong are silly (NOT that I think what’s going on in hong kong is right). Playing by China’s rules is part of doing business with China. Could they take the super high road and cut off any business ties with China? Sure, but that would be stupid.

blizz doesn’t need you sticking up for them. most corporations donate a large amount to charity. it’s a tax write-off.

Someone tell me in dollar amounts how many charity dollars are worth a free person who loses their freedom? What’s the exchange rate that gives us a warm and fuzzy?

I need to know so we can tell people who might get ground underfoot what is the charity equivalent of the boot stamping on their face forever, so they don’t feel so bad.

They shoulda just given it, they had record profits. They’ve also raised the most for Make A Wish, the “charity” who pays the CEO a cool half million dollars a years, where the average salary is over 100k. They’re people getting rich off people feeling bad for those in need, absolutely disgusting and should be criminal.

Blizzard’s wrong is a right. They gave more media coverage to the issue with their hands tied by China. Stop buying Chinese products if you like free speech. Blizzard gave the issue more voice in a backhanded way. They helped get the word out that China continues to control everything they can. The kid did break the rules after all.

Somebody is mad their “witty” comeback backfired. Doesn’t matter what you personally think. What the dictionary says is all that matters.

This is BS. That has literally never worked in human history. “Vote with your wallet” is a sham.

Cute. You are just a drone in the collective. You are meaningless. Nothing ever starts with you. You are not important. Changes only happen when society comes together to change things.

Spoilers: Giving money to charity reduces the amount of taxes you have to pay at the end of the year. Charity is not ethical teflon.

They chose neutrality. Period. Stop being mad that they aren’t using their platform to promote your side. If you’re this worked up about it, then why don’t you build your own platform to reach millions of people to promote your message? Stop trying to hijack someone elses platform.

And I say this as someone who’s actually on your side…

I mean, they didn’t choose neutrality though lol…

I understand they’re a company, and we can’t expect them to always take the moral high road (another chat for another day). There are way better options they could have used, but they chose the option to please China. Last time I checked, obviously choosing one side is not neutral lol

I find this hilarious

“Think Globally” and “Every Voice Matters” values have been covered up by incensed employees this morning”

Cancer is a HOAX FDA is stopping all meds that Works!!! So who cares about their dam money! they are dirting thier hand in Wienie the Poo Honey jar for more money! totally disgusting !

And tax write offs

“Corporations are people!”

– Some really smart man with binders, full of women.

Isn’t Asmon apparently doing all kinds of crap, including showing support for politic sides like Trump? I mean he gets a cookie despite he should do that nonsense on his own time and somewhere else other then his twitch.

They chose the side of running a professional tournament free of politics. You know…like most companies. Heaven forbid people tune into something and not have political stances shoved down their throats. It’s almost like people want to escape reality

Oh my god, the billion dollar organization gave MILLIONS to charity! That automatically makes their scumbaggery okay!

Spare me this nonsense. Anyone who thinks this is enough to redeem any company is out of their mind.

Neutrality would have been issuing a public statement that contestants do not represent the views of ActiBlizz as a company. This is enforcement of a status quo.

It really would be that easy, too. Instead, they chose to make a whole ordeal out of it.

All charity is welcome. Doesn’t mean I can’t criticize their China policy.

What terrible actions? They banned him from competition. It isn’t like they hanged him.

Nice transmog btw.

I was referring to China, sorry, I re-read my post and I really could have worded it better.
