which, as others have annualized, is from the China branch office. so the one in charge their, is locally from China. They personally have an obligation to their country.
Might as well have been “for the Horde” even though its like Sylvanas is in control.
Corporations with binding contracts with China are not about to breach any provisions in the name of “fighting tyranny.”
First, they have no power to “fight” tyranny – Blizzard is a contractor in China and has no authority or ability to “bring China to its knees.”
Blizzard isn’t going to jeopardize itself by becoming adversarial with a contracting partner. Such a foolish move could put a lot of people out of work and Blizzard out of business. Sorry, but money talks and morality is preached in places of worship. Sometimes, they combine forces and the result is tyranny. It happens.
But getting yourself sued into oblivion is not an effective way to combat it.
No. The burden of proof is on you. Your claim is that the police are not safe. I’m saying that’s not true.
– unless we can just make any claim we want and have no responsibility as to its accuracy. That sounds like something you might see on a Blizzard forum, no?
I know (hugs) Your right. I’m just trying to lighten the mood by being quirky. But on a serious note all this effort is in the wrong forum. You need to bring this passion to a place it can actually do good.
The people here are attempting to escape reality, not embrace it.
Technically speaking Shpantzen made the claim that the PRC police are not safe, you made the claim that the hong kong police are safe. Which is an entirely different claim, and not a denying of initial claim, the burden of proof falls on you. The claim you made is separate from the claim he made, you made that specific claim first, burden of proof is yours for that specific claim.
Yeah I like Velara, what’s sad though is that me and him/her say one thing that’s defensive to Blizzard’s decision, people automatically assuming we are from China lol.
One rain drop raises the ocean. If all American corporations said, we arent going to do business with a country that engages in genocide, or is actively attempting to subjugate people who want freedom, China would be brought to heel.
He’s also an activist. They’re probably not safe for activists. I’ll concede to that point.
I’m not an activist. Let’s assume I’m just here for the loot. What sort of… app could I use to help me with that?
Finally, I mean if the burden of proof falls on the first person who says things and since most people who said things for the first time are dead, we can literally say anything and expect it to be accepted as true, no?
Can’t prove something when you’re dead, so that’s just the end of the discussion.
In all honesty Grogzor, by that argument I shouldn’t do business with a single American citizen because America has engaged in wars in Middle East that I simply don’t agree with.
This. China is utterly reliant on Western corporate money just to function. Without our brands and goods, they have nothing but cheap knockoffs and slave labor. It would cause riots there if we pulled out. All it takes is a little bit of backbone to force those Communist tyrants into the dirt.
