Not agaisn’t the idea, but we all know this doesn’t make much sense. The product argument means that you put us the consumers on trials. We aren’t the one that are discussed because we aren’t the one that bended the knee to China’s demands, We are only a very small part of our country relationship with China, and as a canadian with the current huawei situation, I think it’s a proof that you can still have an economic relationship with China without bending the knee if you’re strong enough and have allies. It’s very much Blizzard showing weakness because they can’t stand alone vs China.

I won’t be unsubscribing for something that is a disgusting business practice, because classic is just too fun. However, why do posts on the forums for people defending human rights in China get mass reported?

The reality is though that people having an opinion about human rights should not be a ban-able offense. Much less conducting an interview asking someone about their opinion. All of which is happening for someone not taking it in game. You may as well start banning people over who they voted for while you’re at it.

In summary, I understand Activision wants to make money, by why is the community even kind of split on this?

If Blizzard didn’t want political speech on their forums, they shouldn’t have taken such blatantly political action as part of the handling of one of their games.

Yes yes, Blizzard started it. They host an event with a rule that specifically states not to bring political agendas to the event.

Then, when someone brings a political agenda to their event. They make an example.

Now, future events will be less likely to have political agendas being aired out.
