Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

You mean the Communist party of China’s leadership + Xi Jingping. Not the civilians of China…

They didn’t take “appropropriate measures”, that’s the sign that they are doing it to appease their Chinese overlords. If it was an “appropropriate measure”, it would be a light fine and a ban of a few months at most. Actual cheaters get off with far less, and no one has had their prize money stolen from them.

That’s ridiculously heavy-handed, and they fired two others just to be cruel. They are little more than a Chinese fleshlight, at this point.

No one has a job tomorrow? today?

Collusion with a foreign power and agenda to silence someone speaking against that foreign power in exchange for money… Sounds like Traitorous actions to me.

Trump is being accused of that very thing right now.

It doesn’t matter why Blizzard did what it did. What matters is whether Blizzard was within its rights to do it.

But honestly aside from conjecture you don’t know specifically why what was done was done. You imagine all sorts of nefarious motives, but the plain fact is that the player knowingly broke the rules.

If you don’t like Blizzard’s reasons for enforcing the rules so harshly, you can always play other games and stop supporting Blizzard financially. Otherwise, it’s all just talk.

Yes, the awful, awful decision to invest in a country with 18.59% of the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE as its population.

You… haven’t been paying much attention to how ineffective he of the terrible comb-forward has been with china, have you?

Lol yes… So much this…

Eh they’re not supporting oppression. They’re just catering to their bottom dollar. They don’t give two craps about honk Kong or free speech. All they care about is money. They don’t support anything.

They should have just remained uninvolved, kinda a dumb move. I doubt China gave two shots about some random game steamer.

Actually it does. That changes it from Blizzard being pricks to Blizzard being in collusion with a foreign government

Already done mate.

Alright, maybe I am underestimating the issue. I’m sure this will be brought up at Blizzcon somehow, someway. I might also bet that Blizzard will try to steer away from this which I hope they don’t but it’s a chance they might steer away from it. But do you think this kind of issue will prevail by say the end of the year? Maybe next spring? Exactly how long will you project this to go on? There’s been plenty of other issues that blew up like crazy! Forums everywhere alight with some sort of thing happening! But they too faded away into time.

Right I do however get that people are arguing for the punishment being too harsh. I also think they might be reading into it too much. It’s kind of like assuming it based on corporate greed, or make a quick buck etc etc

Frankly, companies that do business with the tyrannical regime of China deserve to be hurt for their greed and stupidity, and so does Blizzard.

Lol people calling for ACTUAL WAR with China. You do know that, even if isn’t NUCLEAR, it will be a war we will never truly win. Right?

I still find it funny, if a player had come out in the interview wearing a MAGA hat and yelling “Build the Wall!!” and got banned by Blizzard people would be praising Blizzard talking about how great they are for standing up to The Orange Man.

China could take over the US by invasion and never fire a shot. More people than you can wave a ban hammer at.

Just as an FYI something similar has occurred before… During the no flying crap… Their ‘systems failed’ which stopped people from canceling for like 2 to 3 days…

If you can read Chinese you will know the feeling of people in China about this issue (Hong Kong not only the guy’s action).

You could say 1b people in China is “Brainwashed”, but do you admit they are equel to anyone else on the earth?

Or you think offending “brainwashed” people is not a big deal?

wake up … and realize they deleted the post

I’m betting if we glassed Beijing, all of their soldiers would amount to nothing. Kill the head, and the body dies. But that would be wasteful. I say we ramp up the trade war with actual trade bans on China. It’s the economic equivalent of the same thing.

I kinda think you overestimate China here.

If china had the capability to easily win a war with every other country literally against them…

Why haven’t they done it already?

It’s because the war could go either way. And if Amercia WERE going to fall to “communists” you can bet your sweet cheeks that someone insane person is going to get those launch codes and damn everyone to hell before China wins.

And judging by the number of subs that actually were dropped during that 19 days, it is possible that their systems were overwhelmed.

Same thing might be going on here, with the perma deletes… probably isn’t used much and got a wave of 'em all at once. We’ll see if these issues clear up within the next couple of days.

No.

A War with China would probably utterly collapse the entire global economy.
