Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

My dude it has far greater implications than that. China literally has the power to censor AMERICAN media through fear of market share. Blizzard knows this and still they caved like a fat kid presented a cake. I’m that fat kid. I love cake.

Maybe, maybe not, but thats the basic of it really. Banned for bringing in politics.

Were said cheaters being monetarily compensated by Blizzard?

uh…actually what I read said Blizzard followed the rules to the letter. Ban and lost prize.
I can dig up the quote again, I suppose.

Give me a list of common things my dude and i’ll see what i can do without from the day to day. Give me a list of alternatives too cus if you are gonna heckle us or myself for protesting this decision then give me shet for using Chinese made things then were gonna have a long discussion about how thats nearly impossible considering current law has it so it can say made in the US yet the parts and crap are from… China.

oh ok that link actually worked lol. Alright so what if their policy clearly states what will happen to those who well don’t follow it? Rules don’t have to be followed (ie cheaters) and having watched the interview again he seemed egged on to do it.

Though the entire money reward stripping does seem really harsh, I can agree on that. I don’t know, I’m just thinking that this really being blown way out of proportion than it needs to be.

Yes, they were.

They got caught cheating in a tournament as well as win-trading, trying to fix the ladder, so they’d get more points and thus a better seed in future tournaments.

No, because if they decided not to ban him for Free Hong Kong, then if someone in the next tournament spouts ISIS ideology, and they ban him, that guy can then sue Blizzard in federal court for discrimination, because they now have set a precedent of picking and choosing who they want to ban. You ban everyone who does it, or you ban no one who does it.

Exactly… but everyone went SWJ / Crazy or w.e (Maybe its all N’zoth’s doing) because its about HK.

It’s on their official Weibo.

Anyone can sue, doesn’t mean they will win. Also u should note that ISI/Neo-natzis hate speech is not protected speech if it will incite violence.

Your phone and PC, or Mac.

  1. everything at Walmart.
  2. 90% of everything in every other store.

Not my job to find alternatives for you.
If you want to protest effectively, you’ll just do it.
Telling us here about how your protesting isnt really protesting any more than some chinese citizen protesting my second amendment rights from Hong Kong.

Had they received any of that compensation prior to being caught?

I own a pc and a Samsung, give me some everyday items i can avoid,

Yeah, but in this case, they would have a very solid legal case.

The part of the stories that you omit are pretty big.

Player A did a political statement
Got banned for a ruling that is pretty vague for a 1 year which is more than cheating, and removed his money prize.

2 casters got sacked because of player A??

Blizzard chinese communication team for hearstone reported this as defending the “pride of the country” which is… for a us company.

The amplor of back bending Blizzard is doing for the chinese on this is amazing. Yes they are in their rights to do so, but morally it’s wrong. And not condeming it at minimum is pretty bad if you have any moral value.

Your right but for me no flight wasn’t that big of a deal…the using real ID now that wasn’t in my book at all…no way using my real name in forums…I am way back when player…when we had to run till level 40 then 60 for mounts…and flying at 70.

Car maybe.

I’d bet they don’t win, and i’d also bet it gets tossed out. Because its bullcrap to compare human rights to letting someone espouse hateful rhetoric.
