Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

If you are protesting Antifa style, yes.

do you have any idea how many people they have vs how many we have? if we did that how do you think it would end up for us when they could literally just throw bodies at us and win?

That’s Elae for ya.

he’s just trying to be shocking i think. there was zero reason to say anything beyond “don’t become what you hate.” and not mention him or reference that horrible time.

Bonus points for using that. One of my favorite shows.

You like going to extremes I see it in most of your posts.

Thing is, knowing your audience is key. Not every place is an acceptable place to protest. Look at the mouth breathers (lack of better not swear type word), who protest the funerals of fallen soldiers. Do you think that is the place? I certainly do not. Should you be protesting in an arena where others are going for their enjoyment, let’s say maybe in China to escape the political turmoil in the streets? Again I’d personally say no.

You keep making this out to be more than it is. They have had this policy in place since day one. This is the first time the rule was broken. Blitz, the one at the center of all this has stated he agrees with his punishment and to leave Blizz alone. Yet here you are… again…

Source on “leave Blizz alone”? I can’t find that unless he made another statement. I would also say it’s arguable that he “agrees” with the punishment. He certainly seems to have accepted it, but that’s not inherently agreement.

Relevant part of his (first?) statement

For second part about the suspension, Blizzard had changed their suspension on me from a year to six months. Once again, I appreciate for their reconsideration on this. To be honest, I think six months is still quite a lot to me. But I also being told that I can continue to compete in the hearthstone pro circuit which they mean the grandmaster tournament. I appreciate for this decision they made because grandmaster is currently the highest level tournament in competitive hearthstone. However, I wish Blizzard can reconsider about their penalty on the two casters involved.

I am sincerely looking, I know I read it over the weekend, but even in that part statement you are reading you are missing the end of it.

Hearthstone changed my the way I live, I really love this community. Blessing to all the players out there, and blessing to Blizzard.

That alone shows no ill will, he knows he messed up and admits to learning his lesson. What more do you want? In the same statement you chose to quote from he admits that he knows that this kind of protesting should have been done on his social platforms, not at a sanctioned Blizzard event.

I will keep looking.

“We can enjoy the game all we want. I mean even if you don’t do it it’s totally fine, for some people it’s their livelihood. Also I was definitely not trying to damage Blizzard by my actions. Also I really want to say one thing. I’m seeing a lot of people pushing streamers, players, casters, Blizzard employees etc to make a statement (regarding me). I want to make it clear that whether you play Blizzard games or not and whether you make a statement or not are completely your personal freedom. I don’t think we should push people into anything. I also hope those who stayed neutral or silent won’t be targeted by the crowd. Not that I don’t appreciate your support but it’s their freedom. I am against this “pushing others to speak up” thing. Even if one disagrees with you we have to respect each other. This is the fundamantal line of democracy.”

That’s from his sub-reddit interviews, can be read on PC Gamer as well.

What makes me really mad is that groups like Extinction Rebellion and other protest organizations seem to be out to cause maximum inconvenience to hard working people, and they cause the most damage to people that can least afford to be inconvenienced, I mean if you got a secure job, having your commute disrupted is no big deal, but if you have an employer that’s likely to fire you if you are late, even if it’s through no fault of your own, then that’s simply unfair, so that’s why I wouldn’t care if government stormed in with military and removed these protesters to make their noise somewhere else.

Th protests current demands are ridiculous, they got what they wanted with the extradition bill going away for now, so that should have been the end of it.

But what they want is for government to stop calling protests ‘riots’ which to me is exactly what protest organizations do these days, in all honesty, I’ve encountered enough evidence that other ‘protesters’ like Antifa and so on are often funded by people like George Soros and other crazies, I am not saying that this is what has happened in Hong Kong’s case, it would be equally as ignorant to assume that the Hong Hong protests have been staged then to assume that they are a natural occurrence.

What is interesting though is the official response from other countries to Hong Kong protests has been somewhat lackluster, this is curious…the US itself hasn’t really taken a strong stance, so Blizzard hasn’t either. The most that China is being told is to respect the ‘one country, two systems’ rule. Donald Trump is just complaining that he’s being blamed for the whole situation in Hong Kong. I think the lackluster response is because of trying to work out a trade deal with China?

I guess my position is that I see most protesters the way I see Antifa, the face of anti-hate to me is now in reality nothing more than the face of hate itself. I mean I used to protest, like when I protested against Iraq War, but I learned from that day, protests are ineffectual and won’t change anything, not unless the elite allow it if such a change serves their agenda.

Oh man wanna read something funny? Actually read the letter sent to Congress on the 18th, who ever was feeding them the info, didn’t bother to be honest about how his ban was rolled back to six months, or that he received his money.

Yeah there is quite a bit of misinformation going around in addition to actual facts.

First time I took the time to read it, figured it was just vote-bait. Tonight is our election, yayyyy, no more ads for 3 years and 10 months!

Oh you are so lucky! I feel like they never stop here.

Extinction Rebellion is self parody at this point. They fouled thousands of gallons of fresh drinking water in a preposterous self-own of a protest a couple weeks ago. They shut down mass transit, the most eco friendly form of transpiration in urban centers just last week or something. Almost all of their videos show them using things like disposable plastics and what not. They are a comedy act IMO

Taking tolerance to the point of in-tolerance. That sums up Antifa pretty well.

I know I get a lot of American station, it’s like one ends, they start campaigning for the next. I truly feel bad for you on that front. Ours max at fifty days, usually they only run for 40.
