Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

Yes and thats why people are speaking up because Blizzard claims the core values are their highest priority yet they are willing to sacrifice those principles they hold in such high esteem just because of political pressure

Trying to do my part and bump this thread for awareness and to keep up the post count. Only had like 600 posts in the last 24 hours or so. A week ago there would have been 600 in 8 hours or less.

I am afraid that if we don’t continue to put the pressure on them that Blizzard wont choose to save China. If they don’t put everything at risk, and become the flagship corporation to take the fight to the communists, how will Jesus save those people? We need to bring them into the fold.

Manifest destiny.

I don’t think they can save a country sorry, I truly believe that this issue has 100% been blown out of proportion. You are entitled to your opinion though. Best of luck to you and have a blessed weekend.

They are the only entity in this world with the leverage to make this happen. If instead of banning him, they had released confetti from above his head, and dropped a flag that said “Free Hong Kong” behind him, China would be fixed by now.

Amen, brother.

Let’s annex China!

She literally just endorsed him yesterday.
They did an interview on NPR together today lol

Again, wrong.
Their list of demands on what they want is online for anyone to read.
None of that is what you’re saying lol

Again, another untruth.
No American company has a moral duty or obligation to do anything of the sort lol

Then again, you were the one who told me I was lying about Trump saying “Thank you, China for saving the American farmer.”
Even after I linked the video clip of him saying it and his tweet. (And I watched the live rally lol)

So really, not surprised by anything you say lol

As far as Blizzard’s reputation as a company is concerned, these days I’ve had the run around from too many different organizations.

Blizzard is 4 out of 5 stars. That’s better then the two top supermarkets of Australia that barely scrape three and a half stars (this is usually due to the fact that fresh food usually isn’t so ‘fresh’ and they screw over farmers with cheap milk prices which is good for consumer, but bad for farmer).

The point though is that I don’t think this incident will hurt Blizzard too much in the long-term, as so far all I’ve seen Blizzard do is try to keep everyone happy, China, their fans, which to me is the optimal path for them to be walking.

It’s ridiculous rhetoric that anyone wants a peaceful amicable relationship with China must be sympathetic to a murderous regime, in all honesty, there was talk from the Australian Greens party of pulling out of the US Alliance because they hated Trump who to them was a sexist lunatic, but that would have been crazy, because not every American necessarily supports all of Trump’s policies.

So we should be very careful before we demonize China, while we are within our rights to sympathize with Hong Kong’s plight the riots I think were started by a murderer, and this person will be returned to Tawain to face justice accordingly. In fact, this was the whole reason China was working with Hong Kong towards an extradition bill-they wanted to catch a man that murdered his pregnant girlfriend, to me murdering your pregnant partner is the most evil act a person can commit.

The reality is that it’s Taiwan that has the death penalty for murder, but China’s approach to this murderer would be a lot more compassionate and give this murderer much more than he deserves.

This is the problem with you pro-democratic crowd, here’s what democracy is, it’s 50% of people voting for people to get away with murder, rape, and other crimes, what the mob thinks is irrelevant, the murderer needs to be bought to justice plain and simple and answer for his horrific crime. So you can call me racist for calling out the lawlessness and disrespect I see from the bogan suburbs of Australia and that’s fine, but if you do a bit of research you would eventually agree that if some of these suburbs became outposts of the great Mother country of China, it wouldn’t be the end of the world, these lawless thugs could use a kick in the back side.

The truth of the matter is that these protesters want democracy just for the sake of having democracy…but here’s the truth, nobody in a democracy gives a damn about democracy, they only care about democracy when it suits them, that’s why Brexit is going on as long as it is because people voted for the wrong answer. And that’s why its going to keep getting delayed and delayed, until Britain votes for the right answer because too many of us in the Moral West don’t actually about what the majority thinks anyway, so let’s stop pretending we do.

Rail against faux-outrage as much as you like, but we really don’t need Communist sympathies here. States operated under Communist ideals inevitably destroy individuality and the free will of the populace because that hideous system suppresses and defies human nature. Not something anyone in a first world country like Australia like you are should ever be espousing.

Even anarchy is a better option than Communism.

This Thread and its open and close cycle :rofl:

Needless to say with Blizzard canceling two events and the Activision Ceo getting a letter from the US senates. Blizzard should really cancel Blizzcon this year. This has potential to be way worse than Diablo from last Blizzcon.

Soooo, gamers for freedom aims you at their Facebook page…where a grand total of 78 say they are going.

Yep, massive.

Anyone who has slogged through your posts in this thread has seen an excellent example of the abstract in what you’ve written…and not in a remotely flattering way.

Unless you’ve been trolling this whole time in which case you just delivered a master class.

Having nuclear tipped scuds breaks mutually assured destruction. You can pop up anywhere and rapidly deploy nukes before the other side can counter attack. The nukes would be on the border / wherever the US fleet is, not leaving enough time for the other side to press the launch button.

You can talk like you’re gonna blow China away all you want, as though committing a whole slew of human rights crimes against their people will somehow counteract any of theirs.

Even Trump is rational enough to try and strike a trade deal with China…
…and I feel dirty having said anything even almost complimentary about that man

It takes maturity to say that someone you disagree with on almost everything you agree with on some points.

The point is not to launch; but, to let China / North Korea know your subs can rapidly deploy if they don’t come to the table and sign a treaty that includes removing tactical nuclear weapons from your fleet.

I believe Russia has that capability for Europe still. You’d also be trying to get Russia to back down on the Western border.

If we were to use tactical nukes it would be to stop North Korea from firing theirs if their nuclear program is almost combat ready. North Korea views giving up nukes leading to Kim being anally raped to death, like Gaddafi. So, you’ll most likely have to launch to stop them.

China is avoiding liberalization as well since it caused the fall of the soviet union. What the US has to do is put pressure on China so liberalizing is the best option, and the region breaks up into many small nations. Also having tactical nukes deployed would act as a deterrent for China causing an international incident by sending tanks to Hong Kong.

So it’s America’s job to pressure China into changing their whole system of government, not just stop certain human rights breaching activities… got it.

Blizzard gets accused of making small amenities in a gaming broadcast to appease China and you plot the dismantling of their entire infrastructure.
