It would, but it’s not required to function in China for a week, as the OP was daring people to do.
As my current level of Cantonese and Mandarin isn’t high enough to do something as simple as ask a local where a restroom is, I doubt I’d be able to successfully articulate more complicated political thoughts in the local language in a week’s time anyway.
