Yes, it was pretty harsh.
They are a private company and they have a right to moderate any platform that they have created as they see fit. That includes this forum. In a figurative sense we are standing in the living room of their house that they created and we are their guests.
Because it can directly make a difference to their profit and thus their future as a company.
No, I said they are not a political entity. They were put in a political situation because of the actions of a player and two broadcasters. Blizzard didn’t choose this fight. They certainly did’t want it to happen. But it did and because of that Blizzard was forced to make a decision.
I understand very well how politics work. I was in the news media for over 20 years and I have covered five presidential elections. I have personally interviewed 3 different American Presidents and literally hundreds of members of Congress.
Sure it is. And if you feel that strongly about it, I applaud you for doing what you feel is best (and I am not being sarcastic with that). But realize that your actions won’t change the situation for the protestors or the political situation at large. Blizzard has literally no power or say in the Chinese Government or how it treats its people. I doubt they would even want that sort of power. They are just a game company after all.
