Blizz employees are hugging and crying in the parking lot right now

Blizzard needs to separate itself from Activision. It’s gone from THE LEADER in velideogames to a cash cow to fund Activision products. Look at destiny and destiny2. Activision had wild expectations and who took the blow? Blizzard. Look at the dev teams involvement with the community, how poor it is now, how separated the community is. Wow has turned into a quarter machine… And I guess it always has been… But before I felt like I got WAY more for my money. I love wow, don’t get me wrong, but the bad changes have outweighed the good and I believe it’s handed down from Activision and the blizzard employees are now numbers instead of people. I wonder how many jobs could be saved if the CEOs went from 240 million dollar salaries to a measly 5 or 10 million… Or heaven forbid a 6 figure salary. I felt this year’s ago when I called customer support and for the first time, instead of talking to that small group in California I got someone in Asia who spoke broken English and had about as much emotion as a Ritz cracker. Praying for those people, that they can find hope and work somewhere that makes them feel like human beings instead of peons.

It took them five months to explain why though. They were silent on the matter before and after launch, people hit 120 and farmed Zandalari Reputation because they were certain they were in-game.

I’m really sorry to hear this.

First of all this is the source of that information.

A site that wants you to spend $49 to see its sources mind you.

It says “As of August 14, 2018, Battle for Azeroth is the fastest-selling WoW expansion of all time, with more than 3.4 million copies sold in one day.”

Now ask yourself a few questions.

After 6 1/2 months (probably the longest pre-pay period… with new AR’s!)
Do you really think there’s 3.4 million people buying it on day one?

Do you really think they would declare only the subscriptions from day one… when there is such a huge bulk of pre-sales?

Do you not think it odd that we see only these supposed “day one” figures and nothing else at all on subscription #'s?

Do you really think this expansion is the best selling expansion ever?

Edit: Really crappy way to lay your employees off.

For everyone effected by this…

Goodluck!

Exactly. WOW is the old dinosaur that will out live the other games.

There was absolutely no reason to think Zandy were in game. In fact, I clearly remember knowing the only thing to farm was Honorbound on horde side to get maghar. It was pretty plain as day information.

Anyone that thought zandy were in game…Day 1…was intentionally fooling themselves.

No I’ll stand by my statement. Because players asked to play Zandalari trolls for a very long time. It was stupid to not release them at the start of the expansion considering that the entire expansion is centered around the Zandalari Trolls and Kul Tiras. Again, at the peak of their sub numbers they didn’t think it would be a good idea to have them at the start?

But your statement was not about Zandy. Just in case you forgot, here it is.

They did release allied races from the get go. So…

Because Kul Tiras was not ready … and now both races will be released at the same time

When a business isn’t doing well this i what happens. It didn’t help Activision-Blizzard that BfA was amateur quality development with a non-existent QA team. It’s rather clear that a portion of the WoW development team shouldn’t be developing WoW. Hopefully, for WoW’s sake, a massive shift in the development team comes into play here.

Develop quality, fun, and engaging video games and you keep players around and spending money. Develop indie quality games and players leave and stop spending money.

I don’t feel bad.

And that work will be rewarded in 8.1.5. They should communicate more, I agree. This whole thread really boils down to Blizz not communicating with their employees or their customers. During those five months, with the picture that was provided that I had forgotten, I can look back and see the frustration people were having.

Now? You’ve had it explained to you why they had to delay Zandy trolls. You know they’re ready and that you’ve already completed the unlock requirements. If anything, be mad at all the Alliance players that would scream “horde bias!” if they released Zandy trolls early while they were still finishing the Kul’Tirans. That’s the only reason they’re not released already.

This has literally nothing to do with WoW

getting rid of middle management has nothing to do with wow… says you

So the age old saying of ‘Misery loves company’ describes your attitude to a T, my mother always said ‘If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing.’
‘Its just a job’ you say, these people getting laid off might be the sole providers for their families, there goes their health insurance, car insurance, possibly mortgage payments, utility bills…
‘Until you have walked in my shoes’ cry me a river, you act like you are the only person on earth that has faced hardship, newsflash for you Amino, ALL of us have, but given ALL your negative posts, you seem to want to drag people down to your level of misery, no thank you  Keep it to yourself and try and find some dignity, fake it if you have to.

Huh … they are laying off ppl due to the fact that games other than WoW are not doing well . What part is hard to understand . See their quarterly report

Problem with that whole thing was they didn’t say that until what…Blizzcon? Yet another communication blunder from Blizzard.

I know what I said. I still stand by it. They didn’t release all the Allied Races. Only some of them. And were missing the core ones that everyone was waiting for. That’s…really bad. You can argue technicalities all you want, but the point is clear as day. Zandalari Trolls and Kul Tiras humans should have been there from day 1 along with the others.

Oh and boy howdy was it fun to have a rep requirement for each of them…

Maybe they will lay off whoever made the decision to hand out ilvl400 heroic raid gear for warmode the first day a new raid drops.

You can’t even read, much less talk about being the best.

I know you FEEL like you’re good at WoW, but running all the dungeon achievements with legion artifacts isn’t exactly “skilled”.

Well now we are changing the goal posts. You never said anything about “all of them”. Your statement was about releasing “any” of them.

If you are going to continuously change the goal posts, and change what we are talking about…why bother trying to have a conversation?

I don’t disagree that Zandy and Kul Tiras should have been available day 1. But I was going by what you said. Which did not mention “all allied races” or Zandy/KT.

It made your statement factually inaccurate.
