Mop classic - players vanishing, raids cancelling due to roster boss, the whole game feeling more and more deserted despite the “mega server”.
I feel like ppl are assuming the complete silence from Bliz is “proof” they intend to flush classic down the drain after SoO runs out and they’re not admitting it publicly because they think that will make everyone just stop playing right away.
Yet, the uncertainty, it seems, is already doing that. Players seem to be convinced MoP is a sinking ship and getting a bad case of the “why bothers” already. If it’s only going to get shut down, why bother raiding, why bother chasing achieves, why bother farming xmogs, and so on.
Does classic progression have a future past SoO or is this the last of it? Is it that hard to just tell us? Even if you guys haven’t figured out what exactly you’re going to do, say that it’s still up in the air.
Gearing up a character so they can start doing normal raids.
Or gearing up an alt that’s not going to raid for fun.
Original LFR, ppl thought it was ‘required’ to do it to get the set bonuses from tier gear, even if the items were lower ilevel. Seems ppl disliked feeling like they were forced to do LFR to “properly” get ready for norm raids or heroics.
Join a guild, join a pug. Raids are so hurting for people that they’ll probably take you in with your 496 item level and feed you gear as long as you agree to stick around. Our guild can clear a normal ToT in 3 hours. You’re seriously telling me that you do not have 3 hours a week to raid?
What’s even the point of running it on LFR? You don’t get any achievements, nor shared experience with guildmates, nor a modicum of challenge. You’re just going to forget about it a month from now just like a celestial dungeon run so who cares.
And yeah, I’ll be the villain, if you can only play Monday mornings between 2-4 AM in the morning, raiding isn’t for you. Just like how I don’t have time to play TBC and MOP, I have to miss out on TBC. That’s just how it is.
It didn’t take away from it either. This is the whole random dungeon finder fight again from a few years ago where nutjobs were talking about how RDF not being in Wrath is killing the game and that they know 100 buddies and a dog that wasn’t playing because of it. Then RDF got added and the population dipped anyway. They then coped and said “Well it’s because RDF wasn’t there to begin with! It’s too late!”
LFR would have at best not changed things, and at worst killed the social element for people and tanked numbers even faster. It certainly wouldn’t have increased player count.
When bosses from old content stopped dropping gold somebody asked Morgan K, a test analysis employee, if this was intentional. She responded yes, but later apologized and said she was incorrect.
The community was sending her death threats over this mistake and demanding her be fired. When it was pointed out all she did was answer a question wrong the community here on the forums argued the way she was being treated was justified because of her “unprofessional conduct.” The crime of be being wrong on Twitter.
So no obviously they can’t give an answer if they don’t know for sure because the people here on the forums are looking for any excuse to be scum of the Earth
