Blitz is a satisfying experience like a punch in the face

Not sure why other people seem to have wildly different expereinces then me. I haven’t PvP’ed since SL, recently started Blitz and after 49 games im 30-19 at 1800 rating, and in 2300 MMR games. This causes me to lose no rating on losses and gain 20+ on wins. I was at 1600 MMR for a few games but with my win/loss ratio my MMR kept climbing.

Can we swap MMR?
Please

The MMR bounce is whack. After winning a couple I was bumped up to 2.1k, then after a couple losses back down to 1500s.

Yet I can win three in a row afterward and not go above 1800.

a punch in the face is sometimes good so you don’t forget what a punch in the face feels like.
i don’t think many players have ever had the opportunity and its a big problem.

Huh. Interesting point.

There is a need, more accurate ratings.

Part of what it is measuring is how you do with bad teams.

It’s marathon, not a sprint, what rating you are at now a week and 2/3 in is not what it will be at the end of the season, when it matters.

You should start a discord for people who also hate Blitz so you can find 2’s and 3’s partners.

Wildly different skill levels, Im doing well enough on my ranged classes but I’m terrible at rogue.

Never having ping below 230 or so doesn’t help haha But I’m still plugging away at games on Rog when his turn comes.

Someones gotta base sit

That brings me to my next point.
If rating and rewards are ment to tucked away behind a slow grind, that “accurately” represents a single players performance, somehow in an 8vs8 format with folks they dont know…it is maybe working as intended. If your teammates dont do objectives, sabatoge your gameplay, disconnect from the game, that reflects poorly on you when someone is told your Rating or MMR or they ask to see your season rewards you dont have yet.

I comprehend why you feel CR gains and losses should be tied to MMR variations between teams.

I feel blizzard could choose to know individuals MMR and CR and insure both teams have a roughly equal likelihood of winning, because blizzard can decide to place players on teams with the goal of making both teams have roughly the same MMR average.

Right now instead you can have a 500+ MMR difference between the teams. Most likely the lower MMR team gets stomped for minimal or no gain for the victors and a feeling like the time was wasted for the losers too, or the higher MMR team loses and loses so much rating they come on the forums to say they are on the verge of quiting and the victors gain so much rating they are suddenly put against a team comprised of players 500+ MMR even higher than their new inflated MMR, and likely lose, fast.

I dont think Solo BG rewards should require the long hard grind, as it isnt prestigious to have good luck being put on good teams. The amount of CR earned for a win being just 20% higher than what is removed from a loss would increase participation as players would at least feel more in control of their CR earned with the mysterious MMR math no longer being a factor. If you win a bit more than you lose youll climb fast and face everyone else at high rating, losing because you got outplayed and losing rating would still happen and thats ok.

they need to bring back the worm. remeber the worm from sl season 3 lol

I do not remember a worm. Maybe I was busy raiding S3 instead. What worm?

I am pretty sure it is exactly what the mode is intended to be. For the typical player.

Thing is a lot of folks here focus on the exceptional players to such an extent that they think exceptional is somehow the norm.

If you are consistently placing in the top 5 or 10 percent of the ladder, you are an exceptional player better than almost everyone. Most of us are not those players.

I might have been when I was 20 years younger and I lived almost next door to an ATT node. I’m sure not now. and I’m OK with it. I want to see how far I will climb on the classes I like to play.

That’s what it does already. It’s weighted heavily towards making games, not waiting for fair as possible games.

Another point supporting the idea it’s designed to be about the marathon. it’s the opposite of the old RBG, where a team would dissolve after one loss.

Which rewards? the season mount and saddles have always been fill the bar, and there are plenty of folks who have pulled out of the pack on the ladder.

well it was back in a time when the only ranged you ever brought was boomkins and warlocks. seriously no other range class was worth bringing into rbg. only reason you would bring a hunter is to base sit. and they had a pet worm that could burrow and basically make capping vs a hunter with a worm impossible. even against double rogue. so if you were a hunter who wanted rating in rbg the only way to get invited was to get this worm pet. it was like a little cheat hunters had. but the class was so bad back then they couldnt do anything other than that

Weapon illusions, elite transmogs. Rating is very deflated, so folks with some rating can feel good about that now.
Its not the high rating number I’m after nor the transmogs. Really just liked having fun games.

If two teams have a 500+ average CR disparity, and having games be somewhat fair is a goal, it could swap a few folks to even the teams better. We know with 16 players and one team having all the Gladiators or close to it rated folks Vs the 1650 CR Average team, its likely to be a one sided slaughter, and a couple high rated folks could have been traded for some 1500 cr players on the other team. If nothing else, reduce the players perception that winning or losing is a coin flip

I got to 2.1k on two toons and now all my games are full of 1600 rated players despite having a 60%+ win rate. I guess there’s some conspiracy by blizzard to milk your sub by slowing your rating climb but I don’t want to jump to conclusions…

Its cause you’re a rogue. And rogue is overpowered in blitz especially in cap the node maps.

I’m ret and have had a similar experience.

I actually encountered this. I thought it was very odd.
