I’m old, well not ancient, older than the average player I assume (40), and I’m curious about the point of discord? I was going to ask on the Herod server, but that player base seemed a bit high strung.
I plan to make this server, Blaumeux, my home; and was just wondering what is the point of joining a discord. Could we not communicate on the forums or in the game itself?
It’s just a chat app right? I am sure I’m missing something and probably simplifying it (apologies).
Just curious, not trolling or trying to insult anyone.
It is the easiest way for us to communicate. It actually is a chat room, and not everyone uses the forums. Also, in game there will be a lot more people who have no interest in talking, people who actively seek out the discord want to be around people who talk and interact with each other from the same server.

Yeah, Blizzard has already promised us realm forums shortly after go-live. I have just dabbled around the edges of discord and I don’t see the value either. It isn’t like the discussion is elevated over what we see here. I certainly have no objection to discord. But I don’t need yet more social media.

Blaumeux!, the only server of the apocalypse! (based on Lady Blaumeux of the 4 hoursemen of Naxx).
Alliance player here, I’m also curious the correct way to pronounce it, it’s almost french meets german which is pretty cool.
I think it’s “Blowe-Meu”… Pronouced Bla-ow-me-you
I’ve got high hopes for Blaumeux. I think it came along at a good time. Right now it is well balanced I think and so far it has avoided any unnecessary drama. I am hoping the population settles in at Medium before go-live day. Maybe we can avoid the population bloat that effects some of the realms.
It sounds like it’s one of the few PVP realms with a good faction balance.
Unfortunately there is going to be massive spill over from the other realms due to queue times which might get it near a “full” realm, hopefully it continues this mentioned faction balance though.
What happens as we approach launch is anyone’s guess. I expect Blizzard will have a number of new realms on the list but offline so people don’t panic at the last minute and try to jump to other, already high pop, realms. They can calm nerves that way and they can be opened up in seconds as people flood into the game.
