I’m going to make this short and quick. Boosting if only an issue because players are too lazy to play the game. The best way to kill boosting is to just play the game.

This seems like a random post considering boosting is largely dead now and the instances of it working are extremely expensive and slower than questing.
Also, no it wasn’t a player issue, it was a design issue. This is game design 101, despite how players love blaming eachother, they’re literally doing what the game encourages them to do.
Thus, Boosting got fixed through Blizzard’s fixes, AKA, the issue in the first place was the game, not the players.

Just like GOLD SELLING.
Just like FACTION IMBALANCES.
They all exist because of what the players did, are doing or are going to do.

The best way to kill boosting is to have an option on the character create screen to start off at level 70 in p1, and level 80 in p2.
A majority of players will always take the easiest and most efficient road. Failing to design your game around this fact is a design failure.

If we just make everything legal then there will be no more crime.
When this game was being developed that mentality was not as prevalent as it is today, especially so in mmorpgs. Most mmorpg players scoffed at wow for being a casuals game.

boosting is pretty much completely dead outside a handful of 60-70 dungeons. dunno what the issue is here? forget to press enter for 3 weeks?

Even the 60-70 boosts aren’t great. Questing right now is faster and the boosts are expensive as all hell
doing a dungeon the old fashion way gives like 1/3 or 1/2(if rested) of an entire level
this was 63-65 in a couple hours of regular dungeon action
