Black Temple Attunement Bugfix

Some players have noticed that we have a bug associated with the Black Temple attunement questline. With scheduled weekly maintenance next week (September 8 in this region), we’re going to implement a fix for it. The result of that fix will be that the full quest chain to unlock Black Temple will be required for entry, as intended.

At the same time, players who have not completed the attunement quest chain will lose access to Black Temple if they currently have access.

Additionally, if you’re raiding on alts, you’ll need to log-in to a character who has completed the full quest chain in order to unlock the attunement for the rest of your account.

Thank god you are working on bugfixes that actually benefit players and leave other bugs that have been negatively impacting us in the game for awhile. Great work guys.

Boost non tier drops from BT/Hyjal like you did for Tier 5.

Oh, I was wondering how I could have missed that I could do BT attunement just by hiding at the instance portal.

bugfix benefits the playerbase? immediate fix

bots everywhere, lack of nodes, etc? ignored all expansion

I did my attunement the normal way, I felt excited for people who maybe didn’t and found a cheeky way into the raid.

There is a scale of unfair advantages and this one barely even touches it

See guys! We still work on classic stuff! This was a major game breaking bug… and we had to post an entire topic on it so you can see we still work on classic.

This is just my opinion but I really wouldn’t call this is an unfair advantage just because somebody didn’t do a quest chain.

Gotta be the absolute dumbest bugfix to date. Been there since vanilla and now you’re fixing it three TBC generations later.. jesus christ get yalls prios right. Waste of time, money and effort to actually bettering TBC Anni.

You no longer need the attunement to kill vashj/kael anyways plus they’re account bound for alts

Correct you dont need attunes for those 2 bosses but you need other bosses for BT and most groups dont want to do those other bosses

Attunements are a great way to keep all content relevant and active.

Fixed it for you. If you are not attuned to tier 6, guilds will not recruit you because it is not worth their time.

Attunements worked well in Vanilla because people still ran the old content in spite of the attunement. They did not run it because of the attunement but because they had their own goals in the content.

In TBC this is not the case. The only reason anyone is returning to tier 5 is to snipe the final boss with the skip, which they also would not run t5 at all during t6 if they hadn’t added the skip.

Good reason the crap was removed for Sunwell and never came back.
