Black Friday gaming laptop for wow

I would say ignore screen size and do what I do, connect a monitor to laptop. Also plug in mouse and keyboard because laptop keyboards suck.

Actually a really good idea appreciate that input the selection of 17 inch monitor is slim 15.6 seems way more popular!

Just make sure laptop has an hdmi port. Most do so shouldn’t be an issue. If it doesn’t then you can do like my wife who uses two monitors and buy a USB adapter. Though, I think it’s pretty standard to have the port built in.

My laptop has a 15 inch screen, but I use a 32 inch 4K monitor.

lol Cyberpower is junk

Everything that’s prebuilt is grossly overpriced.

Started to see sites advertising Black Friday sales today nothing spectacular yet though

I’m currently using an Alienware M17R4 laptop I bought about 5 months ago. It runs well and I’ve been happy with its performance, but I agree with others that about 1/3 of their price is the brand name. I knew that going in though.

The current AW laptops have a ‘slim’ format that I find I really don’t care for. I had a previous laptop overheat several years ago so I keep a close eye on my temperatures these days, and this AW model runs hotter than I’m used to. The fans can keep up fine on it now, but it means being even more vigilant about dust and cleaning it when needed.

By the way, cleaning recent AW laptops and probably other brands involves disassembling a fair bit to get at the fans. (You will not be able to properly dust the fans by just blowing air from the outside, you need to clean them directly.) I’ve done it but I much prefer the older models where I just had to pop the bottom panel and the fans were right there.

Graphics in WoW don’t matter much to me I’ve come to realize, playing at lowest and max settings.

last year i got a HP omen for 1k and played shadowlands at 100+ fps easily. dont spend too much for WoW.

your budget is $2K-$3K?

Pretty much ANYTHING you get will perform WoW amazingly.

Haven’t really seen any good deals yet in Canada and looking daily :frowning:

Asus had a really popular one for the last few years running. Zephyrus I think, or something like that.

Be careful with Black Friday. Usually the “sale” items are previous model year stuff. If WoW is your primary use-case you are probably fine, since it can run on pretty old hardware, but just something to keep in the back of your mind.

Best at a decent price? The Lenovo Legion 7. Its often called by many reviewers the best gaming laptop. Its also has a FULLY powered RTX 3080 in it. No power limiter on the graphics card what so ever. With the Legion 7 its literally get what you pay for. The Legion laptops also have the best warranty on the market. IF anything ever goes wrong with it they send a tech to your house to fix it. I have the Legion 5 Pro and have used their repair service twice. Both times they had a tech to my house within 48hours.

If you are talking best of the best? all the bells and whistles and a 220hz+ screen?

  • MSI GE76 Raider. Its offers the best thermals and the best raw performance out there. Its just simply the best on the market atm. Check it out on youtube. Its always the top performer. The Legion 7 is just behind it.

Check Amazon or their Websites directly on Cyber Monday for both MSI and the Legion 7

i wouldn’t even get a laptop as they only have 2 year lifespans these days, go with a mini desktop that runs on intel and NVIDIA, ATI is always very buggy in the graphics department, 1TB solid state drive, 16GB RAM minimum, 32GB at max, 2GB minimum graphics memory that’s either MSI or EVGA, on the CPU go with either an intel i5 10,500k or an 6 core i7 9700k

Great info thank you!

I bought an MSI laptop back in December of 2020 and play WoW on it daily, it runs the game perfectly with all graphics settings on maximum. I’ve got it connected to a 32" curved monitor for home play, but it does just fine when I play it on the go.
