Does anyone use Bitter Chill (Chains of Ice reduces targets haste by 8%) for PvP? It seems like a decent niche talent, but not sure which specs are haste reliant and best to use against.
almost never, there are basically tons of ways to remove chains in the game as opposed to the past where it was unremovable, not only that but it used to be -12% but the developers dont have balls so they nerfed it
it will remain a near dead talent until they turn it into a haste steal
Yeah, I thought about it. Besides Strangulate, for the other two PvP talents I usually go with some combo of Spellwarden, Dark Sim, Delirium, or Bloodforged Armor.
I can’t think of a scenario where Bitter Chill beats any of those on incoming dmg reduction or team utility.
The ability if talented correctly with combined other attack speed reductions, its pretty effective against locks and warrs in pvp. otherwise doesn’t have a use against other classes in a pvp setting.
Vs. Locks I’ll take Spellwarden & Dark Sim for fears, which helped me lock down a couple of my wins yesterday in an Afflic/Demo lobby (solo shuffle). I doubt I’d trade either of these out for Bitter Chill.
Vs. Warrs I usually run Bloodforged Armor and either Dark Sim to steal cc/buffs/heals from healer, Death’s Cold Embrace (vs. double melee or if Warr is kill target) or Delirium (other enemy DPS is a mobile kill target).
Against Warrs, Bitter Chill might be a good counter to those pesky low health disarms. Especially vs. double melee where it’s easier to apply it to both DPS via double chains (Proliferating Chill) with the added snare for kiting.
problem is that there are far better things you can be playing over specing multiple talent choices to make the honor talent work
if it was a haste steal and not just a flat reduction totally different story
Yeah, I don’t see Bitter Chill beating out Spellwarden, Delirium, Dark Sim, Bloodforged Armor, or Death’s Cold Embrace for either of the two remaining slots (after Strang) for any arena matchup or even BG’s.
