Kul Tiran size blood elves.
there is no animosity. most high elves are blood elves anyway and that a few arent is irrelevant. we have had high/blood elves living together in silvermoon even after the rebranding. theyre free to come and go from quel’thalas as they please. void elves are another matter
Blood Elf females like Human males
A Blood Elf female falls in love with a Kul Tiran male.
The next thing you know… large Blood Elf child is born.
The High Elves (those who never chose to be called Blood Elves) of the Silver Covenant were the ones players always pointed to that should be the allied race. As far as I know, Vereesa and the Silver Covenant are still anti-Blood Elf as long as they’re in the Horde. Those would be the group that would continue the animosity. Although Lor’themar has extended an olive branch to all Quel’dorei, it’s usually these groups that still hold resentment toward the Blood Elves. There’s a short story where Lor’themar goes to see Hawkspear to mend old wounds and basically gets told to go pound sand lol. So there is still some animosity lingering around.
you dont know for a fact if any of them never accepted the name at any point. the lodge elves also call themselves ‘high elves’ and we know for a fact they were still fighting for silvermoon because they didnt get exiled until LONG after kael renamed them. it wasnt until rommath returned until they got exiled. so did they accept the rebranding and revert back later? the only ones who you can say for sure NEVER renamed were off world and even those elves returned to their homeland so who they hell cares if they never changed their name or not high elf = blood elf and there is no animosity. if there was vereesa wouldnt mope around dalaran wishing the blood elves would join the alliance or be at the beck and call of the farstriders
It will need to be one HUGE temper tantrum.
Scars and runic tattos too… and preferably in several different colors to properly portray all the magical schools the Belves use in their day-to-day lives (white/blue/purple/orange for arcane, red and maybe black for blood, green for fel, mint green for nature -I mean we have monks, they deserve some love too-, yellow for light).
Proper warpaint, the “cute” Alleria esque designs can be left for the Helfers, I want tomething that will make my Belf toons look more menacing (I mean if the Horde are to be treated as the “jerks” in the story we should at least look the part).
Earring jewerly for males (personally don´t care for body jewerly). I like the eyebrow suggestion too, so I´ll respectfully pick it up. Effects on hair, though preferably of a different design to NB / DI Dwarf.
Well, when they got praised for literally scraps by the playerbase AND had a working environment that coddled drunk cube crawling, even stuff that takes a minute to implement is probably “too much work”.
Shamans in my case… I hate to imagine Belf druids simping for Malfurion -like the other races sans Zandalari- were made to.
also Shamans is a more iconic Horde class combo, and I rather the devs make the Belves closer to the Horde culture.
There is a ton of animosity. Read the Lor’theron short story, as an example. The Silver Covenant, lead by Vereesa, tried to block the Blood Elves from joining the Kirin Tor. They also directly opposed them on the Isle of Thunder. And as I said above, the current reason isn’t because the Silver Covenant elves hate the Blood Elves (those some that consider themselves High Elves and not Blood do), the issue is more about political ideology (Alliance vs Horde) than the differences in ideology on the use of magic since the Sunwell has been restored.
Also, lets be real, when people say High Elves they’re referring to the Quel’dorei that affiliate with the Alliance. It’s just a way to differentiate between the two groups without writing a 10 page essay every time we use either name. We all know High Elves=Blood Elves. The difference comes not at a being a different race but being politically divided. You are right though, we haven’t talked to every member of the Silver Covenant to determine if they use the affectation “Blood Elf” or “High Elf.” But to the point above, it doesn’t really matter as those are just ways to identify each group and what political affiliation they belong to. Except for Elisande who definitely made the distinction between the two groups lol.
edit: I should probably add that some of that animosity is starting to clear up, as Lor’themar has started to allow any Quel’dorei to return to Quel’thalas to visit the Sunwell without fear of attack (Not Void Elves since that’s dangerous to the Sunwell). Time will tell if this will heal the wounds of the Third War and it’s aftermath or if there will always be a faction of Quel’dorei who oppose the now named Sin’dorei.
no one cares what the SC think. they dont have a member on the council or are capable of any magical contribution to the kirin tor. they are just a distinct militant part of it and have taken it upon themselves to protect dalaran as a small sanctioned militia in no small part to its leader being the wife of the leader of the kirin tor
where do you think they came from btw? they just magically appeared out of nowhere in newly rebuilt dalaran, id love to hear your interpretation. and why the animosity with the sunreaver mages?
well to me they are just ex farstriders who didnt want to serve the horde or the magisters who, were for the alliance with the horde and mana draining from living beings. you even see breadcrumbs in the blood elf starting quests when you start working with the farstriders on the borderlands
, it is good you have come. Our list of allies grows thin, and even those who share our cause are not completely trusted. It is because of this that we, the rangers, turn to nature for aid.
In the allies of the forest we find a deep bond that does not know deceit.
the SC behave as anyone would who is defending their new home from the same people they left behind. thats it. if there is animosity it was solely between farstriders and magisters and only a few would outright leave, and ofc vereesa and lorthemar. and even when she comes to help defend silvermoon shes says OUR ancient enemy. but i thought BlOoD/HiGh elves were enemies!
and if you think they were alliance this entire or some other nonsense then there never would have been a need to seek refuge in dalaran. there would be a ‘high elf’ district in SW next to the dwarven one. but their people are canonically mistrusted by the alliance populations arent they. so that line of thinking is a joke
who cares? there is no equivalency between the SC or the 6 alliance high elves. vereesa already tried to join the horde once as well. how can you call the race divided when the VAST majority lean one way and control everything. ‘high’/blood elves are fine living together. you even see it when we get a glimpse of the sunwell post restoration where high/blood elf pilgrims are chilling at the sunwell along with auric sunchase the leader of the dark portal expedition
if you dont want a 10 page essay every time you bring this up, then dont bring it up. barely any ‘high elves’ are affiliated with the alliance according to the lore and devs. that means they dont consider dalaran or any elves within it part of the alliance. you have no claim and never did. but thanks to people like you who gaslight and misrepresent things now we are going to have world of blood elfcraft
What, and hear me out, we don’t do that and you keep your disgusting hands to yourself.
I haven’t heard of any lore reason.
It seems to me it’s just that Blood Elf lore is lacking like most of the core races. They’d have to redo quests in the area I think also to bring it up to date.
That was evidently, a terribad joke. With a little bait intention behind to boot, I concede.
If it would had been a legitimate troll attempt, the poster would NOT have admited she prefers to keep the races separated. She would have insisted in the “Silvermoon piece or GTFO”.
Considering what they think is “great” narrative development nowadays I rather they ignore Quel´thalas even exists tbqh.
I see that one screwing us up harder than the copy/pasted model.
botanist!!
So now that the hair thing is settled is anyone more open to giving some Void Elf Haircuts to Blood Elves for the more “Goth/Edgy” styled characters?
Specifically the beards and shaved head/wavy hair styles.
no, alterac humans is the only fair thing
Alterac for the Horde!
Don’t need to convince me… I’m always on a blades edge about to make a thread for that…
once horde always horde
I can understand that view.
For me…I’m not sure they’ll be able to mess things up much worse.
cannibal monsters are not part of the aesthetic and lore blood elf. the dark ranger are part of the forsaken and the sanlayn are minions of the jailer.
Giving elf options to the forsaken would be fine I suppose. but the blood elves need things that represent the lore and the aesthetic blood elf magister and farstrider tattoos and more light customizations
Runic brand style scars.
simply everyone was fighting to survive there is no reason in the lore other than at that time there was not enough strength to rebuild it
