I played Ret for a couple of days while leveling with Jesse and it was probably my least enjoyable experience with a class/spec. PVP was even worse.
I loved wrath/cata/wod ret
Not the op parts of wrath though (devinestorm/exorcism)
I really loved mop enh!
I kind of like the kiting half melee range with some off heals.
Not sure I even unlocked Zan trolls, never overly liked the troll models.
I only ever played Holy, leveled as ret just cause I had to. But my paladin has always been one of my least played toons. BFA Ret felt like I was having to chase after everyone while asking them to please wait for me to catch up.
But I am also a terrible Ret paladin.

There are actually two OG sparkle pallies.
Does Eisenhorne still play? The first time I faced him was a WSG with the group screaming at each other to KILL THE PALLY. HEāS KEEPING EVERYONE ALIVE. He was healing Goofin so yeah, it was tragic.
I think Iāve only faced Idaelus on his druid and Pingaz on his druid too. Spam cyclone /hug. Oddly enough, I was playing my druid when Pingaz did this.
But yāall playing the wrong faction. How many times I gotta explain this?!
I just checked my btag list and I dint see him anymore. 
I wouldnt be surprised if you only faced me as a bad Druid, I havenāt really played as a bad Hpal since MoP.
I do remember that when I server transferred Sparkle the very first BG I did was a SSM vs Bitaken and his merry band of 9 man guild premades. 
How can I play the wrong faction when I play both?

Well, at least heāll understand the importance of balance in a competitive PvP environment.
Thatās very interesting and I hope it works out well. The guy seems like a smart cookie. I was initially fearful of wow becoming more like diablo but seeing what his job description is, he doesnāt touch class design, just balance. Knowing they hired someone to at least attempt to balance the game is a positive step.

Did you have beta access? I think there was something with people with beta access having trust level shared across their account
