They explained why they’re putting a cap on AOE. They don’t want PvE content to turn into mass pulls plus AOE ftw.
I think this change might help the lag in epic bgs and wPvP. The servers won’t have to calculate AOEs hitting 40+ enemies.
Groups that normally pull one pack at a time won’t be affected.
If necessary, Blizzard can also keep the timers the same by reducing the number of packs you have to kill in each dungeon.
Players keep talking about how great WoW used to be. AoE used to have caps in those days.
You’re getting your wish. WoW is starting a return to the old days.

Pfft, that’s like 8-9 our time. Neither of us have GTA5 though.
Like $11 through steam atm. Get it. Er no, ‘cdkeys dot com I think it’s called.
It’s certainly not “my” wish, also not that of the vast majority of the playerbase if these forums and reddit are any indication.
People already up in arms about this over on the CompetitiveWoW subreddit, pretty much no one that actually does M+ regularly likes this change.
It’s just a bad change all-around. I think they floated a similar idea (capping AOE targets) in the past during the Legion PTR, but ended up scrapping the idea before it got to live.
Hopefully it works that way and a positive comes out of this. It could be that will just be the full damage cap and your damage will still hit all targets but for just less damage. That’s how a lot of AOE abilities work now.
So the game would still have to calculate
I think when people reference the golden days and past expansions they are referring to unpruned classes… not taking away aoe.

People are getting so weird. You have the edgelordy types that talk trash, the make fun of other players types, the “I’m so good and godly” types. We’re all familiar with this and are pretty immune to it. You know how it is.
Last night in wsg I encountered bizarro player. This guy was a resto druid and didn’t want to be marked for healing. In fact demanded the mark be removed. Leader ignored him and kept him marked. Observing this guy it becomes clear why he doesn’t want the mark, he’s doing zero healing and doesn’t want to be tracked.
We cap one. All good. Everything seems fine with the exception of bizarro druid who is still doing no healing. Frankly I dunno what this guy was doing.
Fighting in mid on efc, horn sounds, flag has been grabbed. I look to see who grabbed it, it’s bizarro druid. Win the mid fight, go to wingman and defend bizarro druid as he carries back to flag room. We get in the room, our flag is there, he doesn’t cap. He’s jumping around in cat form. Couple of us tell him “cap it”. He runs out of the room, down the tunnel, then runs back in. “CAP IT” we say again. He runs out of the room again, stops, and types out “It’ll be funny when the other team wipes you”. Some players on opposing team take him down and return flag. Opposing players come into the room after our flag, we wipe them. All good. Clock runs down, we win.
This druid though, wtf? Really weird.

I met the “I’m so Good and Godly” type in a deepwind gorge. He kept trying to kill me like a nub and never managed to do it because it was usually in a team fight (guess he doesn’t understand cc/ focus healers). Ended up dying twice while trying to pull it off and he starts rage whispering me about being S#*@.
Got to say it was fun flashing my 1550 arena achievement at him, and watching him get angrier. Probably my only good experience this expac.

I don’t know what the deal is with this active sabotage thing that happens today. One person doesn’t like what’s going on, they take it into their own hands to do…dumb stuff like this. Makes you wonder how many of those close games are really “throws” by design for some self-something purpose.
Lol, is this the new “How’s it feel to get killed by a guy in whites”?

With everyone apparently getting 2k, the egos are soaring and nothing is more humiliating then getting styled on by a guy spamming a 1500 achievement.

Ahh, you got the rage whisper! The ultimate acknowledgement of “I’m so salty because you got way too far under my skin” lol.
Last time I got rage whispered was due to world pvp. Apparently it’s very srs biz, or so the amount of &$#$@#$& would have you believe anyway.

The only way to World PVP is to hunt the Horde I’ve found.
Some of you are cool, don’t come to Garrosh’s Landing in Borean Tundra tomorrow.
Joking aside I’ve gotten 400 honorable kills out there and its fantastic. Theres something beautiful about killing people who turn War Mode on with no intention to ever PVP.

It’s that “pvp is just another tool for me to use to level” mentality that does it for me. They get so mad, come back to their body, emote at me. Then I kill them again.

P1: “oh you should turn on warmode for the extra xp.”
P2: “but I don’t like pvp.”
P1: “ally don’t have it on and you will probably never see one so you don’t have anything to worry about”
P2: “ok”
turns on warmode

Another sock alt.
Thats me in Duskwood right now. The amount of level 20s strolling into the first quest area are absolutely delightful.
Garrosh’s Landing in Borean Tundra is great because the fog reduces visibility. Nobody sees the gnome menace coming. However, being an undead rogue in Duskwood has its roleplay merits.

This guy would hop on his main any time I killed him, but the fog would hide me from him. I killed him at least 20 times before logging off for the night after not seeing him for a while. Logged in the next day and he was back.
This beats twinking for sure.

I LOVE Duskwood pvp. In classic I would prowl around on this twink druid. I kept her parked out there specifically to take down horde ganking in that area. She’s a little powerhouse. Nothing better than running off a level 50 hunter with a level 29 druid.
