Lol, no.

In fairness, WoD soundtrack was pretty badass and at times epic too.

SL isn’t very good? Bro we have PvP vendors. Titanforging is gone. Loot actually matters now and isn’t thrown at you every second thus creating more value in the loot you actually do receive. Your abilities actually DO DAMAGE to other players, not some passive azerite BS. I don’t think people are being fair about SL, I really don’t. It’s like your too stuck in your complaining mindset that you can’t actually applaud blizzard when they get things right

If these things make SL good, there are other things that make it not good. Overloaded systems at the start, tying player power to a heavily emphasized personal choice, daily busy work, other people hate the loot nerfs, nerfs to M+, PvP gear falling behind PvE gear, and their attempt to copy other games failing with Torghast and Threads of Fate.

I don’t like SL for those reasons.

Currently, they’re both pretty far down on my list. I love leveling alts and one big plus that BFA had was six starting zones I could run and a gaggle of side quests through out the zones. Shadowlands has one story quest through all the zones and not that many side quests. That’s just, boring.

Then there is The Mall and walking… in a dreary un-fun zone. On top of that, Snoreghast which again, is basically just a long slow currency grind.

I know there are people who enjoy the Mall and Torghast (and I’m glad you are) but I am not one of those people.

That, and alot of people start getting “burn out” after the first month.

If you put hundreds of hours into something there’s going to be a point where you need to take a break to make the game more enjoyable again.

as far as I was aware, bfa was never balanced either, alot of specs in the literal gutters of the damage meters, etc. then 8.3 just masked this by forcing corruption on everyone and unbalanced everything by who got the better/most procs of corruption to oneshot your opponent (pvp) or pump the dps meters (pve)

Exactly, they sh*t bucket themselves 100+ hours in a month in a video game and then wonder why they’re burned out so soon after release.

Or worse, they’re manically depressed and addicted to this game yet they’ve been burnt out and over it for YEARS. But because they’re addicts they don’t know when to quit this abusive relationship that no longer gives them joy.

So they come on here and let the world know how over it they are in hopes that others validate their own misery. It’s in that confirmation that the cycle continues and the next expac comes around and here they are again.

What needs to happen is when we see people like OP, we just candidly tell them, it’s time to move on. WoW isn’t what you remember and things seldom are. The only constant is change and if you can’t embrace that mindset, it’s time to move on to something else.

Like a toxic relationship that yields no fruit - MOVE. ON. FROM. IT.

Probably the best thing about BFA, literally :hugs:. The soundtrack is damn good.

What a weird assumption to make when SL is catering to these people.

The only assumption here was your assumption that SL is catering to those types of people.

Spoiler alert, it’s not. As a hardcore casual, this game is more so for me than it is those hardcore players hence why we’re seeing the burn out happen at that level, not mine.

You don’t hear players like me who play maybe an hour or two a week coming on here complaining. Why? Because we’re actually in the game playing and enjoying the content not waiting on some reset.

If you enjoy something, you get joy out of it. If you’re burned out from something, you’ll find something to complain about in every activity you partake in.

That takes much, much longer to do…

for a whole lot less reward.

Still think BFA was better. Especially at launch. The new weekly loot system and leveling system are the only things improved.
Mechanics are still randomly not working. Hopefully this stuff will get ironed out and perhaps I will change my mind. Hard for me to enjoy something that is not working. Perhaps not working is the new challenge…

Saying that. Shadowlands is far superior to the atmosphere of the community. Constant disrespect towards each other. Ignore list is getting huge.
I kind of get the no safe space thing. When it is among people in a pvp environment towards the opponent. This sort of social engagement during group stuff has really gotten out of hand.

I loved BFA until 8.3. Shadowlands is just a clusterf*
Rogues one shotting everything. For literally weeks and weeks on end with no HotFix. A veritable laundry list of boring disjointed chores to complete. Boring campaign quest, Torghast, the garbage in the maw, no mounts in the maw, small zones, boring Covenant quest, Sanctum stuff, renown grinding, soul ash farming, Legendary weapon grinding, anima farming, conduits crap …in other words multiple borrowed power systems to maintain and upgrade/grind. I just don’t have fortitude or desire to do all of it anymore. I’m out. Today my sub ends.

This Titanic really smacked an iceberg in 8.3 and now the ship has broke in half and is sinking into the abyss. As such, your casual players are the first ones to the lifeboats and are fleeing in droves right now. There will barely be any left in 2 months time. The numbers are crashing right now. Your hardcore mythic raiders will be nearly all thats left, cause Bliz has clearly favored them in Shadowlands. The only problem with that is your casual player base (like myself) FAR outnumbers them. It will hit Bliz/activision right in pocketbook soon enough!

Four post-MoP expacs and three of them have been pretty bad. At what point do you hand the game to someone who wants to make WoW better again?

You guys know what they say about opinions…

Shadowlands has been thoroughly underwhelming and is currently on “maintenance mode” for me (one weekly 10+ dungeon and raid logging). But it’s better than BFA in a lot of ways. Corruptions were abysmal. Azerite Essence grinds were awful. Azerite Trait RNG was pretty gross for a long time.

Shadowlands is like a 3/10 but BFA was a 1/10.
