Grinding dungeons and pvp is fun for some people. I don’t know if I’ve talked to the person yet that enjoyed farming spare parts in Mechagon. The game is a grind from top to bottom. Some of those grinds are fun. Some are not.
Honestly? I don’t miss the TF/WF carrot. That’s one of the biggest things that killed me on BfA. Grind more dungeons for the chance of that forge. I had FOMO for months til I realized I had enough and unsubbed.
This reminds me of old WoW. You aim for a piece, you get the piece, you aim for another. No more lottery.
I don’t view spare parts any different than grinding motes to make shadowweave. Or grinding ore to be able to make shadowmourne. It wasn’t particularly fun then, it’s still not now.
I did enjoy the wpvp that happened because so many players were in the open world grinding something.
Right, but that’s what I mean. Some of the grinds can be fun. I don’t really mind doing the same dungeons or the same raids. That said, I don’t find that content to be especially fun in SL so far.
Shadowlands has the least grinding we’ve seen in years, though, which is why so many players are relieved.
BFA was better than Shadowlands
I think one was worse in some ways (pathfinder) and others are worse in other ways (mindless anima grinds that dont even give me stuff that makes me motivated enough to grind the anima).
and way more rewarding.
i never once complained there was to much gear dropping.
and yet here we are, the most unrewarding expac ever.
blah.
If you’re not going to use the anima, why are you grinding it?
Lots of us DON’T grind anima, because there’s very little point in doing so. And we don’t understand why other people grind anima and then complain about their decision.
Yeah, thats a little confusing. It’s valid to say the anima prices are insane. My toon that I’ve grinded a huge amount of anima on is not any stronger/weaker than a toon I’ve completely ignored it on.
It’s as grindy as you want to make it.
you loved having nine shoulders in your bags and having to sim to figure out which one was actually useful?
god, i hated bfa’s gear system so much. it was the worst. it drove me away from the entire expansion.
We lost a lot of players in BfA because of the mandatory daily chores.
Most came back for Shadowlands and are still playing, though, since it’s largely chore-less.
Legion BFA and SHadowlands are all terrible.
Legion being the less trashy out of the 3.
They all had dumb systems and gating everywhere.
WoD is the misunderstood expac, it had good gameplay, it just got neglected by blizzard and treated as a “filler” expac. WoD was the last time we had oldschool WoW gearing and gameplay of sorts.
now you have this where my last 12 mythic+ runs i didn’t get a single drop. lots of work for little no reward is what this expact has been about. and for the record, i’d sell those items for gold or DE them: at least i got some thing out of it. not like now which is basically nothing over and over. if you find that fun, cool! i personally don’t.
Blizzard couldn’t even put the blade fist on Kargath’s correct arm in the load screen. It was doomed from the start.
lol no
We agree that WoD was bad. But it was not doomed from the start
WoD had good PvP and raids were top notch for PvE, nice class design, Garrison was fine and could have been improved within the patches. WoD just had no other content than PvP or PvE.
In the BfA everything was bad, it had 3 features and more content and it was still bad, not a good class design, PvP was very bad and PvE was not very good either (raids)
Both addons weren’t good, but despite the content of what BfA had, it was embarrassing how bad it was.
Personally, it was the garrisons that killed it for me. They were just too good. Basically killed professions and literally no reason to go out and do anything cause the garrison did it all. The was no reason to do anything else. Hell, you even got raid gear from it. Highmaul was okay, I left the week after BRF was released.
Recently levelled a toon through WoD DF, they def seemed more creative than say the dungeons we’ve got now.
But Bladefist’s bladefist though…
I jokingly sent a ticket asking how that could get that far without being noticed and the GM told me Kargath forgot which arm he used to wield his weapon during picture day. It made me chuckle.
Air drops should have become a permanent feature IMO.
Every expansion to date has been better than Shadowlands. I played much more even during WoD and I hated that expansion with a burning passion. Shadowlands is my least favorite to date though. I hate the theme, story, lack of solo activities that give any reward for your time… nothing about Shadowlands makes me happy.
In Battle for Azeroth I had tons of outdoor and solo content to sink my teeth into. Solo content that actually gives rewards unlike Torghast which gives me nothing.
I still play because I like collecting pixels, playing the auction house, but I loathe Shadowlands with a burning passion.
And I have all of them at my fingertips with the way I have my keys bound.
I don’t use a healing add-on either lol
Less grind or alt friendly is special code for not much content.
Yes. The players that want to raid log and lobby pvp will be happy with SL and whatever comes after SL.
But read the other posts in this thread. The players on the other spectrum are asking where all the content went.
Yes. Read above. Some players gave specific feedback that they did not want the outdoor or solo content to have rewards. That it was all a forced grind.
If you miss it, thank GD for getting it removed.
