So apparently in patch 8.1 they nerfed the exp of BFA trainers by 98%, I did a pet WQ and got only about 100 exp pts. Anyone else is pissed by this? So if I understand correctly we need to go to previous expansion to get decent pet leveling experience?
They did this because all the BfA trainers, except for the single-pet battles on Zandalar & Kul Tiras like Chitara and Bloodtusk, were made repeatable and available 24/7. Them being available at any time was likely due to the family achievements, and trying to make sure everyone had a chance to complete them in a timely manner, unlike with the Legion tamers where you have to wait for their WQ.
Yes, you can still go to the family achievement Legion tamers when their WQ is up, (minus Dorian), to use them for leveling. Xu-Fu’s has a list of which ones work best, and suggested strats here in their power leveling guide:

The change didn’t impact me all that much, so my opinion is moot.
