Seasons aren’t being used for PvE content. The only PvE leaderboards that exist are Mythic+ (which has used seasons since the start of Legion when it became a thing), and WF, which has had leaderboards since Vanilla.
I know the PvE content technically isn’t treated as a season with end-of-season rewards and what not, but the content tiers are divided into seasons nonetheless. New raid will wait until the new season of M+ and PvP begins, even though the new raid has nothing to do with leaderboards nor does it have end-of-season rewards like M+ or PvP do. Yet, still tied to it, for no good reason.
Only reason it is done so is to make things in PvP matter more then whoever cleared the new content fast and then PvPed nonstop and uberomegadeathstriked everybody who didn’t.
An ending date would be appreciated by your playerbase…
Also 8.2 does not mean season 3. There have been many times that Blizzard has released a patch lately and then we had to wait for the raid and new seasons to kick in. What i see happening most likely is the new world zones unlock and then in 7/16 new season starts.
Uh…
- S1 started during 8.0, and ended shortly before 8.1 launched.
- S2 started during 8.1, and will end when 8.2 launches.
- S3 will start during 8.2, and I’m gonna take a guess that 8.3 will end it.
So they are definitely falling into a pattern.

I can understand if they are just trying to be positive. But going around saying it is the top mmo or top game currently, Is clearly false. I’m just hoping it will get better for our sake and Blizzards.

God BFA and this season has killed wow for me. I can barely play the game anymore. In the past I would always be looking forward to a major patch, new season, new feature being implemented or announcement of an expansion at some point but not anymore. I’m lucky to play a couple of hours / week now. I was looking forward to trying Classic but I’m just over it. Horrible gearing system, still no pvp vendors and the rubbish azerite grind and devs just so out of touch with the playerbase in general. I’ve leveled many toons to 120 but you can only do that so many times and most classes aren’t fun to play regardless if they’re OP or average. Game is dead.

I’m suprised people keep asking for the 8.2 release date when everyone knows blizzard release their patches to coincide with ffxiv releases
