BFA down to 3.0 on Metacritic

LMAO at people who follow critics or any forms of them. If I actually cared what something got for a critic score instead of thinking for myself on what I like and don’t like, I would have missed out on tons of movies, games, etc.

I don’t think it’s such a bad thing. There are plenty of people who cannot afford to buy lots of games or movies and have to be very selective.

If you believe the first review from the first critic you watch, you could be construed as naive. Personally, I’ve watched enough to know which ones will give a fair review. They’ll score fairly, tell you the ups/downs, etc.

Same most of the time when critics dont like something ends up being something i like anyways

So? Are you enjoying the game?

This reminds me of friends that would go to a movie, come out saying they liked it until they read negative reviews in the paper and then all of a sudden hated it.

I’d probably remove all the 0’s, 1’s and 9’s and 10’s. That might give a better indication what people really think. Then again I wouldn’t take what’s on metacritic or steam very seriously and even less what critics thinks. It’s just to give us an overall idea of something.

yep.

Crafting rants have not been vague for example. We’ve gotten very detailed here.

The best way would be to take all the scores and dump into Minitab. See which scores are outliers and where your data lies. These sites only take averages but if the data isn’t normal, it’s not a great figure to go by. If you’re trying to figure out the average height of a human man and a few times, you toss a midget in there, that will skew the data.

Not completely true. There are tons of positive reviews out there for many games and products. That’s why you see things with hundreds or thousands of positive reviews and high averages.

BotW, God of War, the new Resident Evil 2 remake are good examples.

thanks for ruining my self esteem

I have to politely disagree. As pretty as the art is to you, or the music sounds, many of us dont listen to the music. Some have voice comms on, or we prefer to listen to music of a certain genre. So no, I wouldnt give them points just for making a horrible expansion have pretty music. As for art, well, there are zones throughout the game tyat have been better and zones that have been worse. Its personal to each player. This art is pretty much par for the course, and therefore also gets no special score from me. In my opinion, the heavy metrics should be things like gameplay, story, class design, and professions. These are the reasons we play. I doubt very much anyone would rate those metrics very high right now.

The only reviews I bother to read anymore are the ones on Amazon that are left on some of the most obscure products and are absolutely hilarious.

Reviews can be the deciding factor in a new customer, or prior customer, purchasing a product. Reviews mean a lot, actually.

Except the general consensus for Legion was that it was hot garbage, pretty much up until 7.3.

Surprised it’s that high…

It didn’t happen on any of the other expansions though? Even WoD didn’t get this bad of a score across nearly all systems like meta critic. And it is considered by a huge chunk of wow players to be the red headed step child of the franchise.

It’s almost as if BFA is getting rated based on the current player perception of the game, story, and overall experience.

Otherwise, what explains the mass exodus of players in wod not rating it 3.0 overall? Cata was very poorly received as well, rated much higher than BFA. MoP was controversial, still much higher than BFA.

Then, after all of that, magically, Legion scored the in the top 2-3 in every poll? Out of no where people just loved WoW again?

Fooling yourselves.

That could be very true. I personally enjoyed it. I have heard that some people hated the artifact system but I absolutely loved it and would much rather have that than the HoA.

If u can’t think for yourself maybe but i rather think for myself on what i like or don’t like.
