BFA, basically nothing to do

I love the game, no doubt about it, but BFA is basically only for people who do the following 3 things. Dungeons, Raids and PVP. Once you get tired of those, you are done.

You cannot advance in crafting without running dungeons and raids. There is not enough solo/individual content to keep anyone occupied for more than an hour, if that.

Legion seems so much more fun and engaged. What am I missing?

I’d be happier if there was more chaotic things you could do. Example would be back in vanilla, a player kiting Kazzak to a city to wreak havoc. The game has removed a lot of random chaotic things players did because it was fun, for some.
I think Blizz needs to make the rest of the game’s world relevant again. Give players a reason to go back to the Barrens for a reason beyond a single quest that is won & done. I think I’ve heard that Wintergrasp will be a thing again. That’s a great way to start.

You can drop PvP from that list.

Blizzard’s approach is to force players who PvP to engage in content they never wanted to do in order to stay competitive because they “want to expand the player’s experience”.

They put profession components in raids/dungeons to make sure players are using that content. Dungeons/raids take months of development time – if they’re not being used often, it’s difficult to justify the resources used for that content.

As much as this game offers the player who likes to do things solo, ultimately an MMO needs to cater to group activities. Some can argue Blizzard has lost sight of that, and there are multiple points you can make for that argument, but grouping up and playing with others is at the core of this game, and such content will always get the most attention from a development standpoint.

Crafting is already dead the moment they cant titanforge & proc sockets and tertiary, same as vendors.

Crafting was a big part of what made the game enjoyable. Now it’s time locked and put behind walls.

You can’t do that now because like someone else said, blizzard has created a theme park ride. You have to keep your hands and feet inside at all times

I’m not saying I don’t like to group up. I’m just completely burnt out on dungeons and raids. Legion had a TON of solo/group content that was not a raid or dungeon. I just don’t understand how Blizzard intends to keep people engaged with the way things are now.

They enjoy reinventing the wheel, even when the wheel is perfectly fine.

Sometimes I think they intentionally make things worse, so they can come back later and make things better and be praised for it.

Game’s always had a focus on dungeons and raids, especially raids.

Everything else used to have at least a little effort put into it though.

If Professions had work put into them they would not be solo content, like most good MMOs. Professions are part of community and the economy in a big way.
If they are using them to get participation into dungeons and raids, the devs failed.

Wtf. There’s dungeons in my dungeon crawler!

It makes more sense than making the components drop in dungeons where you can get loot better than what those components would make. So either way, its a failure on the development side. But at least the way I mentioned, it seems like a smarter failure

You know, that is really depressing. But it is a way to look at it.
It also sums up why i play other mmos and have way more fun.

Unfortunately I think they may have used a stop sign as the template for the current wheel design

:stop_sign: = :crossed_swords: :four: :globe_with_meridians: wheel

Fishing achievements, archaeology, cooking. Plenty to do.

What solo content did Legion have in 7.1 that we don’t have in 8.1? Order halls? That’s basically it.

The problem I have with bfa is that there’s a lot of things you need to do for alts, but not a lot of things to do for mains. Lets look at the lists

Alts need to do: island expos, level professions, do ALL emissaries for gear, lfr/normal raid (maybe heroic), a few m+ for upgrades/weekly, pvp for conquest reward/weekly box, and then the weekly event to catch up.

Mains need to do: island expos, heroic/mythic raid, really only the AP azerite emissaries, 1 M+10 atleast, and maybe some pvp for the weekly reward depending on the ranking.

Munchausen by Proxy as a video game developer illness… and I can see that happening.

Man, I don’t get these kind of posts. I have three characters and I barely have enough time to do everything I want. As soon I get into the game I have so much stuff on my list that I end up skipping a lot.
I log in expecting to do just a couple of WQ, maybe a dungeon if a satchel is up or an expedition for a quick killing spree, enough to keep me entertained for more than an hour, yet I find that there’s a warfront available. Oops, there’s also the patrol quests. Oh, and kill 10 Hordes. Oh, and a Brawl. Oh, and I can keep filling that Conquest progress bar by doing more Battlegrounds. I also haven’t done much of the new raid, there’s still more to it… I need to farm materials to keep those feasts going… arrgghh, Battle Pets stuff too?

I don’t know, maybe you guys are playing too much? I really don’t understand how someone can run out of things to do here.
