There weren’t ‘black lists’ in Vanilla. If the guy was rude people didn’t invite them. If they invited them back, then they’re asking for a hearty serving of that behavior again.
More power to them. I won’t have anything to do with them.

Blizz can’t fix incel rage.
I agree there are a lot of turds out there. I’ve never seen bickering, arguing, and name calling like I have in pug mythic plus groups. I usually end up just leaving. I’ve not played retail since 8.2 release day. Just waiting for classic hoping people will just generally be friendlier and more willing to help one another.
Just to continue rambling. I don’t even apply to the groups demanding big hotdogs only or no scrubs. I don’t think I’m horrible or anything but I don’t want to get my butt hope reamed if I make one little mistake or don’t use the most absolute uber 1337 route with all these intricate death skips and shrouding.
I really do like the whole mythic plus thing but that timer makes people act like doo doo heads it seems.
I don’t really remember there being any kind of server wide blacklist I had maybe 2 or 3 people on ignore I’d refuse to play with. But aside from that just like others are saying I fear it’s gonna be a lot of the same bull crap 1337 big hotdog types in classic. I really just hope to get into a nice guild with people I get along with and go that route. Pug life in classic was bad, especially as dps.
Sure they can.
Step 1: Release Classic.
Step 2: Use a shared sub.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit.
I do kind of wish classic was its own separate deal. I’m sure it wouldn’t stop everyone but it would at least be some kind of monetary barrier to entry that would dissuade some of the 13 year old turds.
Vanilla gameplay will dissuade the leet hax bros and uber madskillz.
The shared sub is good because it allows people who will enjoy Vanilla but don’t know what they’re missing, to give it a try.
You’re friendly neighborhood Shaman Dimitra, would love to heal and give windfuzzies to the masses. I like your style too.
I hope you’re right. I could see some of the big hotdog I’ve been playing private servers for 20 years bruh types coming in and being super elitist. When someone doesn’t know every single thing there is to know about everything they’ll go gone done losing their mind.
I’m also hopeful gear score/item level isn’t some huge thing. I can see it now “ubrs run flask recipe on reserve big hotdogs only no skrubs must be in at least full t2”.
Sure, but there’s a vast community instead of their private god backyard.
I expect that early on. I don’t expect it to last.
I tried pug life on my alt rogue for a month or two while farming pre raid bis. Dal Rends sword and pristine hide drops arguing was the equivalent to the fighting in pug mythic + runs.
This kind of stuff will happen no matter what server you play on. Stupid people do and say stupid things. Best thing you can do to save your sanity is just know that these people are most likely basement dwelling 14 year olds who think talking tough in a video game makes them super cool, when in reality it will just makes them look even more dumb in Classic. Don’t let this kind of thing get personal for you, it’s just a video game. Be the bigger person and let the pimply faced kids dig their own holes, just ignore and move on knowing that you are most likely going to run into more of them and be prepared to just find another group.
If you try to argue with an idiot they will just bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. You have the power to not let that happen.
Also, I DID have a Blacklist (as did our guild) of people like this that I (we) would refuse to group with. I personally also kept a “Kill on Sight” list of people who had tried to camp me while leveling up or otherwise committed some sort of unforgivable action against me. My list wasn’t very long, but it was something that I kept up to date as I found these types of people.
There was some shadow priest on the Dragonmaw server that hung out constantly around brm pretty sure he was on every fellow alliance members kill on site list. Don’t think many were very successful though on following through with said kill.
I’ll second this.
Your character, your name, your guild, your anything sticks with you. Commonly gank the opposing faction? They’ll recognize you and kill on site. Master loot and steal an item without a fair roll? You will be blacklisted and/or avoided for groups. Corrupted guild leaders with loot council playing favorites, mass guild leaves and destroyed reputation. Overall a troll and treat people over trade or in general like crap, get ignored by large groups of people and keep you there even if they don’t remember why. I can go on and on.
On the flip side if you do nice things, carry yourself well, do your best, show compassion, be fair, and so on—people will remember and recommend you too.
As far as my thoughts are about retail, friends are everything, strangers are whatever. I haven’t played in a while as you can see from this character, but the only way I could meet decent people is through friends of friends. When it comes to random scrubs such as the person you’re quoting, simply remove yourself from the negativity, and look for the next best person to group with.
I like this. yoink.
Yeah, the competition in 10/15?man ubrs was intense originally, not sure how it was once I wasn’t really going there any more.
That endless Hunter stat stick vs pleb rogue really wanting an upgrade debate did get old.
I started playing, and reached end game around the time that they were changed not very vivid
I know scholomance went 10 > 5man
Even when I was still playing Retail I was very reluctant to form/join pugs for that reason. One of the things I do look forward to about Classic is that bad behavior like that will be frowned upon and isolated, hopefully.
If private servers are any indication, people will be more likely to reject you from a group because you’re on a class that shares loot with their class.
Except the timer in Strat dead ![]()
No timer in Op mechagon yet, probably won’t be till next patch as it’s for standard mythic dungeon only.
OP: this is my worry, so many wannabe elitists with no manners using an arbitrary number to gauge a persons value.
