I’m not complaining—I knew the risk of playing hardcore. I just want to warn anyone who might not know it. There’s an elite named “Son of Arugal” that wanders Silverpine Forest. It was a skull to me, I believe its level was probably around 25, and it had over 2,000 hit points.
I didn’t have a huge loss, I was only level 15, but that’s just when you start putting some real time into your character. I was as careful as I could be; however, Silverpine Forest is dense and conceals a lot of mobs with large trees and bushes. This thing was completely hidden from me.
I killed a bear, and then all of a sudden, this giant werewolf elite with a skull for a level rampages at me out of nowhere and totally destroys me. Yeah, so be extra careful in Silverpine Forest. You might not see it coming. Haha.

Reminds me of the old days with Stitches and Mor’ladim in Duskwood. Those 2 have claimed many as well

He’s an elite mob that escaped from the local dungeon, Shadowfang Keep. You will find his brothers in there. But this one is clever and he jumped out of the instance from the roof and found his way north of Sepulcher. He wanders that area, seeking the unwary to satisfy his blood hunger. He’s been there since 2004, terrorizing lowbies who get complacent.

Those, hilariously, are actually horde NPC’s, part of a chain quest for hordies

calling bs on lore, no fall dmg?
He’s an elite with elite hitpoints, he survived. Heck I’ve jumped from the roof to escape a bugged pull in the Son of Arugal room w/the stairs where they all pull. If I, as a non-elite, can jump out and survive, the Son of Arugal can surely survive.
You better stay away from him, he’ll rip your lungs out Jim. Huh, I’d like to meet his tailor.
