Beta odds, it's simple math

So many people complaining they didn’t or won’t get a beta key. “I’ve been playing for 15 years, and i’m snubbed again”

How many people do you guys think they let in? Out of how many that signed up?

If they invite 10k people to the beta out of 1 million that signed up, you’ve only got a 1% chance of getting in. If more people signed up, your odds are even lower. Even if they invite 70k people out of a million (And that would be 10 times the highest pop classic server) you’ve still only got a 7% chance.

You’re not the only person who has played for 15 years either. There are hundreds of thousands like you. And everybody wants to be part of the beta.

You didn’t get snubbed. It’s not rude of blizzard to not invite you. You just didn’t win the lotto.

Hmm Asmongold seems to be getting extremely lucky for decades then interesting.

People are generally talking about preferences to streamers.

And why is it so terrible? It is advertising for the game, is there anyone who does not want more people trying the game? The anti-streamer community just baffles me.

If you’re just talking streamers then yeah. They get it so blizzard gets free advertising.

I’ve just been reading alot of “WTF blizzard where’s my key?” comments and threads.

I don’t think he ever got lucky. He’s probably still a virgin.

I can understand blizzard wanting to give beta invites to all the streamers, but what I found absolutely absurd is how a bunch of people who are friends with a streamer are also in the beta? Really? Honestly, what is the point of even having a beta sign up if they’re only going to give spots to people who are close friends with a streamer. Some of these people don’t even have a level 60 in Classic. They barely even touch the game.

To be fair, they have to pretend to like Asmon.

It’s really not that hard to understand from Blizzard’s point of view why streamers get invites. Giving the Beta to streamers not only works as great marketing, but it also is a guarantee that it is going to have a lot of eyes on it to find/fix any bugs.

Why is this a hard concept for some to get?

I’m fine with streamers getting access. It just means I can actually participate, somewhat, in the beta myself even if I didn’t get an invite.

If someone like me were to get beta access, you’d receive someone committed whos going to go to great lengths on the beta to test ALL raids, dungeons, class mechanics, items in all various forms based on my extensive knowledge. I fully cleared TBC back in the day, and have also fully completed two separate private servers as well with highly buffed content. I am a very knowledgeable, well managed individual who would be a great asset to the testing of your TBC server.

Please take these considerations seriously, and please allow me to add value to the TBC Beta.

It’s not even just the bigger streamers like Trashmongold. I’ve checked out several smaller streamers that got in. Every single one of them has a group of friends they they regularly play video games with who all coincidentally also got in to the beta…

Yeah it’s really stupid that every streamer gets beta instantly as does every single one of their non streamer friends. It makes me mad that I’m a paying customer and don’t get the same odds of beta as streamer friends who are doing 0 things to advertise the game for Blizzard. They aren’t even in group with the streamer playing with them. These are the same streamers that talk bad about blizzard on stream and say how terrible the game is.

Well he doesn’t shower…

I don’t dislike him. I watch his little “why I took a break videos” sometimes.

His hygiene is gross though. Like, really gross.

I think I watched a total of 5 minutes of him back when Classic was announced. He annoyed the hell out of me.

Yeah I can’t do his stream. I don’t watch streams anyway (nothing against it, just not my thing). His YouTubes just pop up on my feed sometimes. He as himself can be somewhat relatable at times. I’m usually just drunk and say “ah what the hell, let’s see what the dude has to say”.

That might be more of an insult if his income wasn’t over a million. He can afford anything he wants and chooses to stay there.

25,000 out of 50,000.

How many do you think?

Some people are just afraid to grow up. I used to work at a fast food joint. The head manager made a decent wage and was married. He still chose to live at his parents’ house too (while his wife lived at hers.) He wasn’t a well-adjusted, fully-functioning adult, either.
