Beta Marksman Changes!

The fact that ~80% of our rotation can be used on the move isn’t enough? Outside of Trueshot, we’re rooted for 2.5s out of 12, both of them scaling down with haste. That’s 20.83% of the time.

Now, I’ll grant you that MM has issues in PvP, but people make a much bigger deal about our mobility than it deserves. We’re already the 2nd best ranged spec in the game at dealing damage in high-movement situations.

Because I’d rather save that charge and use it on Arcane Shot, where it will provide more damage. Why on earth would I want to waste that buff on an ability that barely half the damage of Arcane Shot.

You honestly think the RNG of gaining 1-2 charges of Precise Shots is a “huge chunk of RNG”? Seriously? MM has some of the least sensitivity to RNG out there right now.

What “bug fix”. It is currently bugged. The tooltip AP coefficient is 32% higher than Arcane Shot. The issue is that CS isn’t benefiting from all of the passives and buffs and such that Arcane Shot does, but devs have made it clear that it is supposed to. It will be a single target DPS increase, by increasing the damage of what would otherwise be Arcane Shot by 32%, whilst also providing solid passive 2-target cleave.

Right, and that was my point. Don’t focus on the numbers right now. Number tuning is the very last stage of the beta. Right now they are working on mechanics. Focus on those.

Ah, ok, might have been that bug fix.

Yes, the prior incarnation of Chimaera Shot was hitting the primary target with both shots (and thus dealing double intended damage) if there was no secondary target present.

That bug has been fixed, and I still see it as being clearly unintentional. The tooltip suggests the opposite, that the second shot only hits a secondary target. The BM version in BfA did not work that way, nor did the version MM had since they added the 2-arrow cleave version in WoD.

However, since it no longer has a 15s CD, and since it is intended to benefit from all of the passives (ex. True Aim) and buffs (ex. Precise Shots) that Arcane Shot does, the new incarnation is actually substantially better.
