Best news Blizz could give during Blizzcon 2019 is

Not even the pserver crowd for post-vanilla content can hold a candle to the sheer number of folks who are Vanilla only.

Don’t kid yourself.

Well they would be the smallest group of anyone wanting Legacy anything, pretty hard to say which legacy version would be more popular honestly.

This would make me sad :frowning: I want blizzard to fix retail not give up on it. Or make Vanilla+

Blood elves destroyed the character of the Horde. Single worst possible race addition to any faction, maybe in any game ever.

You want Blizzard to stop development for the only reason Classic exists?

I only liked for world of starcraft =p

Playing as a ghost or high templar would be amazing!

Pandaren say hi

Anyway, best news they could give, I think, would be a new single player game. Do something different.

This would be way to soon for Blizz to announce. Remember if WOW classic flops their shareholders won’t allow another adventure to back in time.

let’s see how classic goes first mmmk

Good luck there. I expect the next retail expansion will move even farther from those expansions and more toward WoD/BFA. Classic is to unshackle retail from the bonds of “tradition.”

Hi guys, we’ve decided that now is the time to be brave and move into the future of gaming. Now announcing WoW 2 exclusively for VR.

But Warcraft has always been about fighting Cosmic Forces from the very beginning…

Need I remind you, the very first game, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, was about Orcs from another planet (aka. space aliens/other-worldly beings), who traveled across space and time to invade Azeroth, who were under the control of great cosmic entities (Sargeras and the Burning Legion)…

Even Lorewise, the earliest history of the Warcraft Lore, is about Titans/Gods, Old Gods, Space, Planets with souls, Elves opening portals to other worlds, alien goat people on spaceships, cosmic forces, etc.

In otherwords, Warcraft has and always has been a fantasy/sci-fi game… People like to excuse, ignore, or hide the sci-fi elements, but plain and simple, Warcraft, including World of Warcraft has always been a game about cosmic forces and the average regular joes (us, the meager lesser races), uniting together, rising up to meet and face off against insurmountable odds and achieve the impossible.

Maybe, but how many people actually know that? The whole thing was ripped from stuff that has a great deal more history than Warcraft.

Literally nothing they’ve ever done is original. The story is Lovecraft with Disney characters and a little Greek mythology sprinkled in. Diablo is just a standard dungeon smash. Starcraft was Starship Troopers mixed with Warhammer. The art from Warcraft was completely ripped from Warhammer. They didn’t even change Space Marines at all, which was the subject of a lawsuit.

Warcraft is the fantasy genre blended all together in a neat little package. They even made Dwarven rogues because lul Dragonlance. It wouldn’t make any other sense in any other context and when they tried to be unique, it just became a terrible bastardization.

Blizzard and lore shouldn’t be in the same conversation except ironically.

When people started playing World of Warcraft, it had nothing to do with beings from another planet coming to invade Azeroth. It was because its foundation was something people already knew and loved.

as for this different topic, it doesn’t matter who conceived or wrote about a topic first… it’s all about who did it better. When it comes to video games, there’s no question about it, Blizzard has won, even if it is influenced by lovecraftian stories, and inspired or modeled after Warhammer… Diablo, WoW, and Starcraft are all still considered the benchmarks of their respective genres in the gaming world. the games which other games in those genres try to mimic and/or surpass.

It’s just like inventions… No one cares that others had invented the Lightbulb before Edison… all that people care about is that he designed a better one and was first to commercialize it, so it’s his name that lives on in the history books as the inventor of the lightbulb… same as with Alexander Graham Bell with the telephone, etc.

– which is why we’re all here in the Classic forum instead of GD. They did a damn fine job when they stuck to the script, but then they… went really overboard on a lot of things that really shouldn’t have been done.

ironically this fits in with my Inventor analogy… this is what happened with Edison… had a good thing going… but made mistakes, such as not paying Tesla (Classic Vanilla Developer) his dues, which caused Tesla to jump ship and move over to Westinghouse, and Edison isn’t really remembered for much other than the lightbulb and early phonograph. while Westinghouse won the AC vs DC war, are the inventors of the style of lightbulbs we still use to this day, and so much more ;D

unfortunately unlike with Blizzard and Classic WoW, edison couldn’t revive an old product to breathe new life to his pocket books, so remained a joke, a shell of his former glory, and died a loser… luckily for us, Blizzard can recover, can learn from mistakes, and can make WoW Great Again.

The problem is that Edison didn’t invent the slot machine, nor did he reinvent it in any way. He aimed to make things better. All Blizzard did was take fantasy and turn it into an endorphin juice machine.

TBC was the first time I unsubscribed from WoW, alot of my Vanilla friends unsubbed in TBC as well, I wouldn’t return for TBC ever.

I was hope ing that classic turns into BC aswell, maybe after like 2 years it follows the same opening of the dark portal and so on path it once did.
