Ms > os.
Everyone gets one need roll per raid, until they win an item. After that all rolls are secondary as greed.
No points bs or abusive dkp system, loot council no longer has to struggle with keeping everyone happy.
Edit: been proven by others that is is great for pugs, but LC ran well is superior.

The only problem with this is when a regular raider gets streaks of bad luck on their rolls.

Literally just round Robin which half of raiding guilds do

But Billy the rogue brought full consumables and a flask. Surely he is putting in more effort and contributing a great amount to the outcome of the raid and should get a head start on loot?

1 need roll means you can’t lose that much. Others only get 1 too, so if they win, you are next.
yep havnt won a thing in two months. but no system is perfect.

then he should join a different guild
There is no definitive loot system that will cover all scenarios.
Just off the top of my head this system means it can be months before a hunter or mage is 8/8 t2 when that should be first focus of any raid in BWL to get at least 1 hunter and 1 mage full tier 2.
For hunter’s there is no reason for them to break their t1 set bonuses for t2 until they have 8p at which point t2 is a huge upgrade for them.
For mages you always want your winter chill spec mage to get 8/8 as quick as possible as the off-set pieces give the greatest DPS boost so should therefore go to help your AP/Frost mages but still provide a significant boost in DPS for your WC mage with the 8p bonus.

Sounds cool. Always love it when freshly dinged warriors decked in greens who raidlog win onslaught girdle over me. They deserved it, can’t argue with /roll

13 mc runs and only 1 brutality…dkp or ms>os, doesnt matter
Honestly /roll is the most thrilling system even though it isn’t at all “efficient” to hardcore raiders.
Gambling for gear is honestly so much fun.

I agree, it’s fun for tier gear and stuff that doesn’t matter much.
This works well in more casual pve raids. But when your dps are doing 900+DPS you really have to gear your tanks with crazy good gear or everyone will die.
Sometimes you have to prio it elsewhere. If your warriors/rogues have all the best weapons and your tank is waiting on rolls they’re going to be doing less damage overall cause they’re threat capped.
For our guild, people can only win 1 piece of Tier gear per run unless no one else needs (ie. all druid gear that seems to drop on every boss) and win 1 non-tier piece. Typically before they open rolls on those items, they list off who the item is BiS to keep things a little more fair. So in a way it’s MS > OS.
So far it’s been working out pretty well and kept the drama to a minimum. Fun first, gear second.
Soft reserve loot systems are better than just rolling imo.

We have 8 Mages.
If the round robin extended week to week then it’s fine.
If not, it could be a long time before someone gets anything.

You haven’t seen many good loot systems then. Im notoriously awful with rolls. Been completing ony since September on lock out and still never won a bag. Took a month to get briarwood because I couldn’t win a roll if it dropped, finally got it when no one else needed. The first few weeks of MC where we still had to pug and thus roll for gear I lost every single roll without exception.
This is keeping in mind I have perfect raid attendance, am top 1-2 mage dps every fight, and helped a majority of our guild with all attunements and make 90% of the raid consumes for our guild; you can see why a rolling system doesnt seem entirely fair to someone like me.

MS>OS is also bull, unless you’re allowed to declare a loot spec that is different from what you’re raiding as.
Like, I’m perfectly happy raiding on a Paladin and healing, or tanking on a War, but we all know I’m not there for the healing gear or tank gear. I’m there for the juicy 2h that I use the other 95% of the time I’m playing the game.

Also somewhat promotes a desire to find an excuse to leave early when you win an item and you don’t think you have any chance of winning anything else.
MS>OS roll system rewards raid logging.
