Best iteration of WRA?

I came over during WoD from MG and never looked back. I had good times during MoP on MG but WRA offered good Horde RP that MG didn’t have and it has been a blast. Met a lot of great people, made life long friends and all around the best decision to move to WRA from MG. Wish I had given WRA a chance sooner.

The Cathedral was blown up at least 5 times during MoP. I stopped counting.

This is what I was referring to up in my post! WG was batsh…insane sometimes, but it was an absolute blast. People were so into it and Xara (that was the DK right?) had the Horde foaming at the mouth. I went in on red side a few times and holy hell they would spend the entire BG trying to figure out how Xara was cheating and then some Horde Priest (can’t recall name?) would start telling everyone to shut up and play better.

Oh man those were good times no matter how much Horde would crush us. I remember looking at Archavon’s log and gods, was it depressing how much we lost on (A).

the best version of WRA was before I got here

Yep, that was them! They started and lead AAO then disappeared and Thane took over. You are right about the Horde at the time hating them cause they could no longer just do a mindless GY farm and had to actually work for it.

Wrath and Cata.

All of it before crossrealm.

the best part of WRA is whatever each individual person felt like they got the most out of

Mists

Specifically because Tol Barad was still poppin’ and was always funny to brawl in.

Otherwise, Mists was a good time.

I was a panda. Life was simple. Now I’m old, graduated and got one of my two degrees, and I’m making something of myself while leaving behind a past that was super unhealthy.

I still mainly played alliance during the start of Cata and had a lot of hatred toward horde on the server due to the constant city raids and Wintergrasp demoralizations. At some point, I decided to see things from their side and made a few horde characters…I don’t remember if Chonga was the first but after playing and hanging out with a lot of my mortal enemies my hatred for WrA Horde waned and produced some long friendships over the years. I remember guilding with Kirsy and Cole then becoming friends with Drove, Slithals, Jekar, Prier, Dawnblood some of the big TB players…I would still play alliance too (and still do) I was just glad I was able to let all that silly anger go and enjoy the game without my blood pressure going up because a single faction was winning or losing all the time.

With cross-server and sharding, Warcraft has really flushed server communities down the drain…I think RP servers are the last bastion of that sense of community and having reputations but it’s still chipping away.

edit: Me fail english? That’s unpossible.

Reminds me of when the orphanage was blown up at the end of BfA. See this is why you should come to Duskwood, where buildings blow up at least 80% less frequently!

Best period for me was from Cataclysm to Warlords. I am heavily biased because I had the Earthspear, and despite some periods of silence there were certainly some great things happening.

The game just hasn’t been the same for me since I shut down the Tribe.

You, however, are ancient history.

I came to NA in late Cata, and WrA around that same time. Cata-MoP was definitely enjoyable, even with all the “plagues” and “cults” and “bombings” and gmodding and metagaming and what have you. WoD was fun too, especially considering the RP I got into during or around the time of the drought, I think.

I’ve always enjoyed WrA even during the lulls, like now, where it feels like server has shrunk. I think it’s because I tend to actively seek out people to RP with and in a very cliché way of putting it: “It’s about the friends we made along the way.”

Wasn’t a fan of Tol Barad mechanics, but the fights were great. Had a lot of good times there.

You know, I don’t really like PvP - mostly because I am awful at it - but WG was always fun to me. I think because there would always be people I knew there, on both sides. It was when there really was more a true community here - Like Gorebath said, before crossrealms.

I’m not going to lie, I miss the tribe - I miss the people. It hasn’t been the same for me since.
