Catch up gear should never be better than the gear that drops from the content it was made to catch you up on.

They should add more, that way players are forced to do real content. They should add special recipes that are only obtainable from +10’s and up.

Are Benthic items only usable by Demon Hunters? Because lest I miss my mark, they are used by all classes. Or mayhaps you infer that I speak of thine class being the fault, and reach such an inference by my opinion and assumption that thy root motive is grounded in PVP?

Compared to mythic raiding, doing dailies every day is nothing. Several benthic gear pieces are better than mythic raid drops 20+ ilvls higher than them.

Frost badge gear in Wrath was easier. Queue in LFG for a daily heroic, finish the dungeon, get five frost badges as your daily random heroic reward. Around every two weeks, hit up the vendor in ice crown and buy a piece of gear, weapons included. Every heroic boss dropped a lower quality badge which could buy last tier quality loot.

A lot of you are missing the point. I don’t care that people are getting heroic or even mythic geared for free. This is not a case of us not wanting nice things for you. Hell, I want my alts geared up quickly too!
As the OP alludes to, for people doing my level of content (N->H raiding) which is by no means cutting edge Benthic pieces being BiS for compared to items 30 ilvls higher is a problem. I literally got these Pean’s handwraps yesterday, and they simmed higher DPS than a 415 I got from Mechagon. As a DK, I’ve essentially been locked out from 3-4 pieces of any potential upgrades from doing M+ alone. If I get my hands on the Mechagon rings? 5-6 pieces.
As many would note, despite BoD being by all measures a fun raid, interest evaporated quickly because M+ offered rewards that outclassed the gear you would get at the heroic difficulty level, and without tier sets nobody wanted to do the content. Answer me this: do you think that such a design is actually healthy for the game?
What’s worse, we’re being forced to do the Benthic grind. Although these items are already better than pieces 30 item levels higher, the only way to progress those slots is to grind for pearls Nazjatar, which is not fun. If you’re hardcore, you’ll need to grind for the sockets too, meaning you need to invest effort from multiple alts. And really, you all cannot be honestly convinced that doing Nazjatar dailies is a compelling gameplay experience. As far as Timeless Isles wannabes go, it is clearly one of the worst.

Why is this flagged? You people are so worried over someone pointing out flaws to the system that you have to mass flag it? Personally, I find alternate paths to getting gear a good thing but having anything from basic world quests sim as high as the hardest difficulty in the game is ludicrous at best. For some classes, there are pieces that are siming so high that they sim at an item level that doesn’t even exist in the game.

You didn’t even disagree, you just said that my argument was about getting at casuals. That’s derailment.
They have insecurity maxed as a profession. Max level gives them flagging justification for topics they don’t like.
I have not flagged it, but I am sure I will get blamed for that too. Let me reiterate a little taught fact, that needs to be better instilled in folks early in life by their school teachers. It is a fundamental fact of life, and it will likely avail those who put it into practice far more than any debate over ethics; when or if a person enters the work-force.
It is possible to disagree with someone without it being Trolling, and it is not a mark of your argument being factual, or intellectually superior to your opponent’s; if you must engage in rampant efforts to censor or conceal an opinion that you find objectionable.
When you engage in such censorship efforts simply because a view does not align with your own, that just proves that you had nothing clever to say, and that you were too dull of wit as a human being to offer an actual rebuttal.
While I might disagree with my fel-fueled friend over there that forced me to take off my Blood Elf Illusion, that does not make what he said trolling, nor make his opinions any less valid than my own.
He says Benthic Armor has broken the Gearing System. I believe it is fine as it is. Neither is correct, and neither is wrong. Both are a matter of opinion, and opinion is NOT the same as a fact. Please consider that the next time you are considering the “Flag Post” button. Lets try and keep these forums relatively civil, though I know that can sometimes be a very, very tall order. Cheers.

Well, at the least I was and remain willing to defend your right to state X or Y even as you call me such things. So if that’s crazy, I’m glad to be that; as I would truly hate to see what you consider to be sanity is like.

Dungeons and raids are only part of the content. All content is real.

Gearing is broken, but it isn’t because of Benthic. The entire concept of Azerite replacing Tier Sets broke the gearing system imo. At this point, Benthic is a band-aid until a new expansion with a new core design is released.
I suppose I should have clarified what I meant, I mean non-trivial content.
