We lose conduits.
We lose covenants.
We lose legendary effects.
We lose tier sets.
Boosted alpha characters do not have BiS gear.
Certainly do not have ideal secondary stats.
Yeah, a boosted alpha level 65 is probably tuned weaker than a current level 60.
It has always been this way. And there are always people that hyper focus on completely irrelevant stuff.
Humanbeak - Honest question: is the scaling of Legion raids the most pressing matter for the launch of Dragonflight? Red Shirt Guy found that the game crashes if you unequip the starter weapon from Dracthyr characters. THAT is important stuff.
My man, I walked into Nighthold with a fresh 60 wearing nothing but campaign gear, and some world quest rewards, and I can still solo it. Without conduits, without a single legendary.
Why should anyone have to make a group for a level 1 cow when they are level 5? See where I’m going with this? I’m questioning how many people were shaken to sleep as a baby in this thread.
I hate that you’re right. I never once thought of it like that.
I love farming old content/raids/etc. If DF released and all of a sudden i couldn’t farm old content I would be way more inclined to purchase DF so I can get all that new shiny high ilvl gear. It’s a pretty rotten move on blizzards part, but from a financial point of view it makes sense and forces more people to buy DF.
I was really hoping I would start being able to farm BFA stuff solo, but right now it doesnt look so good if scaling is like this. Hopefully this is just an alpha buggy thing.
If Blizzard doesn’t want the solo players to have fun, they’ll go else where. When Blizzard took away my ability to level alts with pet battles, DMF, holidays and other stuff like that, I went to SWTOR and stayed there until 7.0 happened (which is worse than WoW’s 6.1.)
Not everyone buys the xpac right away. Not everyone raids or pvp. The solo player pays the bills too and they don’t like being ignored anymore than the current content people.
This sums up everything relevant about the issue that Humanbeak conveniently forgot to mention. New class has wonky tuning in the first few days of Alpha, and/or people have no idea what they’re doing with the class yet. Shock horror.
It is. A large amount of the raids have been soloable since BfA. I don’t know why people are still insistent that Legion raids are not soloable.
All the more reason to bring back the Legacy buff system and eliminate the issue entirely.
Enough of this scaling nonsense where higher level characters are somehow weaker than lower level characters.
Do we really need Rextroy making 20 new videos of level 60s one-shotting level 70s when DF launches?
If a level 60 character is stronger than a level 65 character against a level 45 enemy the system is broken.
Being in trial gear shouldn’t matter when you have a 15 level advantage.
Hopefully my concerns are unwarranted, but Blizzard doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt on this stuff and I’d rather be loud and wrong than quiet and end up screwed over in 6 months.
Well I’m just curious because… if he is on an evoker halfway through its leveling experience, and because of this level squish (which, in my opinion, is the main culprit of making older content more difficult even at max level) I feel like there’s so many factors to consider as to why Bellular is having a difficult time.
Level squish, being out of practice, having not been a particularly spectacular player to begin with, not being familiar with the content he is running… etc. Lots of factors to consider.
But I am inclined to agree that usually older content should be somewhat trivial to someone, especially if they are at max level. Which Bellular doesn’t seem to have been on that character he was playing.
Right now, I can solo most Legion mythic raids, except some bosses in the next to last and the last raid. That’s with 250 ilvl and all my bells and whistles. I cannot do the same on my rogue who is wearing some 226 greens and has no 4 piece bonus or legendary.
