I love gathering. And I have a feeling automated systems on the auction house buy listed mats. I don’t believe for a second it’s all players buying things up.

If you want to escape, just do the math on gold to dollar conversion and realize you’re making less than minimum wage to click on rocks in your free time.
I’d run away screaming! 
For real though glad you’re having fun, that’s what keeps me away from gathering though.

Yea, I’m pretty disappointed with the raw gold rewards this xpac. I usually did WQ’s to make my gold and those have been nerfed to hell, so I’m forced to resort to gathering. It’s really killed my motivation.

The whole “how people play the game” doesn’t always equate to a dollar amount. When I’m here to play and have fun, I’m off the clock. Doesn’t matter what I’m doing.
Similarly, it’s hard to put a dollar amount on the SATISFACTION I get knowing that I don’t have to be a part of the Token/P2W system-- I just go out and get what I need, when I need it. Everyone’s whining about the price of things atm, doesn’t bother me-- I’m out getting my own.

Hopefully this will happen soon and mat prices can crash back down to earth where they need to be. I don’t expect mats to be free (I wish) but it’s moronic that people want 40+ gold for a single piece of cloth. A bolt sure, but the cloth itself heck no.
Just glad they announced going back to classic style single tap gathering to combat all the bots soon. What a relief as a double gatherer.
Fishing is still very lucrative. Sharks at 760g per on my realm ,before reset they were at 500!
I quit my job and went on government assistance so I could dedicate more time to WoW in a proper fashion. Has worked out very well.
