awesome, yea i havent played it since launch but i remember liking the crafting system. I also remember I wanted to stand out so I made a rat race monk and did the quest line to move him to the opposite faction pretty early on. the graphics at the time were pretty amazing.
I played a few times on the free trial back in wrath with a friend, but they’d make me make a tauren because they thought they were the coolest. (Tauren are cool, just I wanted to be something else)
I didn’t end up enjoying myself too much the first couple of times, but when Cataclysm was on the horizon all the commercials on TV had me pretty interested. I ended up trying it again on my own, making a troll warlock, and I was hooked from that point all the way 'til the end of MoP.
Still loved the game, just didn’t enjoy my characters any more, and I ended up quitting retail for almost a decade until mid dragonflight. Been back since then and enjoying myself. I really do love the world and the freedom to go where I please feels unparalleled in any other game I’ve played. It’s that meme of Todd with skyrim saying ‘See that mountain? You can go there’ except it’s actually real.
To be fair, this was in the past. I don’t think it’s actionable, especially since I haven’t disclosed the details of it.
Could they try? absolutely.
I am Asian and Blizzard games were so popular then.
I accidentally entangled with WarCraft 1 when my room mates made LAN connections of their PC on 2 bedrooms. We were playing Human Vs Orc.
I was hooked and decided to buy my own PC. There I discovered Diablo 1, Diablo 2, WarCraft 2 and StarCraft/Broodwar. I was addicted. I sometimes prefer to play these PC games than show up on a date with gf. LOL.
Later i immigrated to USA. I thought i was a very good RTS player becoz i have beaten a lot of players when i played against strong players on LAN cafes. When i first joined Battle.net to do WarCraft 3, 1 vs 1, i realized i was just a noob. I placed Silver Rank…lol. But i ended up as high Platinum.
I was on Active Clan in WarCraft 3 when WoW came. On WoW’s day 1, i was left alone in WarCraft 3 as all my clan mates went on playing WoW. I cant play WoW back then becoz i only have dial up internet. But on December of 2004, i decided to get a Broadband internet and gifted myself a WoW game as Christmas present.
I was amazed of the Massive Maps to explore. Got addicted to WoW as I got into PvP and Raiding all the way to Naxx40. Was hardcore until Wrath. Left WoW on Cata to handle my addiction to the game. But i came back later as a Casual… I played all WoW expansions up to now but as Casual.
I wouldnt worry about it tbh. They got WAY bigger fish to fry and im sure they wouldnt want the negative feedback for going after parents sharing their gaming experience with their kids. Especially with what happened internaly in Blizz in the past
