The people who reached level 70 so fast are likely the people who played the beta and experimented with the most optimal routes. Your average player, yourself included, is probably going to spend more time getting to that point.
The same people that hit 70 hours after release will be crying this time next week that they have nothing to do.
Most people who are 70 right now are gunning for world or server first mythic raiding

I played 7 hours or so, hit 65, and only just got to Ohn’ahran Plains. I’ve never been able to fathom how these ultra-optimized mega fast routes work.
(On the other hand, living on a dead server has made a ton of profession and treasure nodes being up, so I’ve progressed on those things much more than others at least.)
XP bonus from grouping with friends most likely, and not taking breaks. I wasted about 5 hours exploring the new area, and the rest in queue as a healer. I’m at 67.
I’m only 62 I did quests until I unlocked my dragonriding then started exploring, getting flight paths and grabbing any sparkly I came across.

Very easily. I got 66.5 last night in Cloudburst gear. If I had decent gear I could’ve easily hit 70.
