What’s your version of beating wow? getting key stone master Maybe? or is it getting ahead of the curb achievement? Some its collecting all the mounts they can, others its getting gladiator, or its just getting an elite set for a toon. What do you aim for every season?
I got a ZG tiger a few months before Cataclysm launched, and it’s been my favorite mount pretty much forever, that no other mount has been worth chasing for me.
As much as I enjoy my tiger, it has kinda killed my motivation to seek out other mounts because it’s simply “the best” from my perspective.
I still do stuff for mogs, though. And pets. There’s other stuff to chase thankfully.
There is no beating wow. The adventure never ends.
WoW is a game of many small victories. There are a few victories bigger than others, like AOTC/CE, or KSM/KSH, or elite/glad (or whatever pvp equivalent I don’t know them!)
But you can “beat” wow finishing a dungeon, or getting some gear upgrade. I think that is what people like about MMORPGs, you don’t just finish them and have nothing left to do
HEY! this was me too with the World breaker mount and a few other class mounts. After that I chased mogs and it made me pvp alot more! thats what motivates me atleast.
Same exact feeling, for ashes of Al’ar ![]()
I like reps so I make sure to max out all of my rep, well not pvp rep >.>
I also make sure to have loremaster done, and some profession stuff done as well.
I’m finished with a season when I’ve accomplished my goals; which are based off how far I got in the previous season and the cosmetics on offer. If I hit the milestones I want, make it further than the previous season, and get the sets/items I want, I won the game.
Idk if I view it as beating wow but I’m done with a character after I get KSM, AOTC and have nothing left but aspect crests to farm.
That usually the point where starting an alt is more fun for me than continuing to play the character I have.
Finishing the story and all the sidequests. And legendary quests. And maxxing reps. That’s what matters to me in the end :3
I don’t know if I’ve felt that way since my raid group beat garrosh. It was kind of “huh, we won” I still remember standing in the vale with the celestials in the follow up quest.
Maybe somewhat when I got the void dragon in BFA.
I tend to have goals for expansions, seasons, or events that I do or don’t accomplish, but it doesn’t really seem as much like “beating the game”.
I think getting every single achievment is beating the game, since it include both pve, pvp and basically all content wow has to offer
Literally avoiding the urge to quit, lol.
my ‘end game’ is mog farming and honestly Ive run short on mogs I even want. I keep hoping something in new content will strike my fancy, but nothing has been interesting enough to put the time into getting it…in DF, SL or BFA. Legion was the last expansion I really liked a lot of mog sets in and I got all the ones I wanted, save for ONE stinking back that I think wowhead is lying about the drop rate on lol
I intentionally make goals I won’t reach in an effort to motivate myself. So I never feel like I “best” WoW.
Has changed as my life has changed but I play PvE and so my goal these days is to get AOTC in current raid and KSM for M+ every season. Ideally get BiS gear at the heroic (Hero) level.
Once I achieve those, I relax for the rest of tier and try to max reps and do expansion/campaign quests once through (Loremaster).
I used to be way more vigilant with mount, pet and xmog farming, but I haven’t had the desire for those for like last 6-9 months.
Settling on playing only one character for the most part has helped a lot in terms of desire to play. I play alts very sparingly these days.
I think it will be the day I log out and never log back in. Other than that, I don’t think there is such a thing as “beating WoW”.
Getting $12.99 worth of entertainment… I don’t think an MMO is beatable while it is still being developed.
I’ll settle for AOTC and KSH/KSM each season.
3k io score is usually my goal every season. And I pug it 100% of the way, so, it’s a feat to reach!
Pvp title, famed slayer (maybe just CE because title is timed), and m+ title in 1 season
The credits should roll
