Lore confirmed that sharding will be in the game after launch.

Really? Where? I didn't read that. He didn't say it WOULD. Quote it.

As you've noticed, the Classic Demo does have realm sharding. This is to let as many people as possible experience it without technical issues such as server capacity or spawn density getting in the way.

Longer term, we know how crucial it is to the Classic experience for you to see your friends when you walk into Stormwind or when you’re helping them on a quest you’ve already completed. And there should only ever be one Kazzak on a realm, no matter how many people are waiting for him to spawn.

We’re still looking at how we can best deliver an authentic Classic experience at launch, and in the weeks and months that follow - both in terms of gameplay and community. You won’t see phasing (which is tied to specific quests that don't exist in Classic) or cross-realm zones (which combine multiple realms together) in Classic. However, realm sharding is one of the best tools we have to keep realms stable when hundreds of players are swarming the same initial few zones and killing the same few mobs (like they will be at the launch of Classic). To that end, we do believe that some form of sharding may be helpful, especially in those early days. But we recognize that a cohesive world is critical to WoW Classic and are committed to bringing that to you.

Says the guy who's already bought BFA and probably has a current monthly sub. You realize the only cost to Classic is paying the monthly sub... which you're already doing. So you've already voted 'yes.'

Trust me, the way he is conducting himself, you can tell what side he actually lies on. And it isn't the side that wants a 1:1 classic.

Oh, you mean the thing you want but were never gonna get anyway?

Please do not make a comment like that Diablo Q/A guy did. I know it was justifyed, but still it was absolutely cringy and awkward to say that in public.

What he say?

He asked if the whole Diablo Immortal thing was some sort of late April Fools joke and the crowd went wild haha...
Thing is they're a multi-billion dollar corporation not a small indi studio. Respect was thrown out the window when they even coughed at the idea of sharding, they aren't stupid enough not to know that will kill the classic community. Ultimately it comes across as them trying to sabotage the project.

They were happy to do what they did to diablo fans - milk them for $60 tickets, hype them up, treat them like walking disposable wallets. Then dump that garbage mobile app on them and they've been waiting for SIX YEARS. Acti-blizz quite clearly has taken it's fans for granted for far to long. They don't care about you, they care only about your money, giving them even an inch allows them to get away with this type of disgusting behaviour.

You think they won't do the same to us? We're next on the chopping block if we don't kick up enough fuss. Their job is to provide us with a product, mine is to buy it it meets my approval, private servers are FREE. I hope they keep that in mind the next time they do Bobby Kotick's bidding and !@#$ all over their own fans.
ya just let them ram all of us in the !@# right?

Everything is cringe btw, 12 btw.
Dude they completely disrespected Diablo fans lol, what that guy said was tame as hell and not even insulting. A reskinned chinese mobile game? I think they should be grateful that was as bad as it gets. People have supported that franchise for 22 years. Diablo made Blizzard what it is today. Jesus Christ, some of you need to put on your big girl panties. The guy said nothing wrong, Blizzard was in the wrong on this one.

No. Do not be respectable. They do not respect their player base and they do not deserve it.

BfA had months of people giving CONSTRUCTIVE feedback and they ignored almost all of it. Only after a huge amount of negative feed back not even a month after the expansions release did you see the WoW Dev team scrabbling to save face.

They need to be told to their face that this is unacceptable. That they lied to again to their players and fans.

This is not a true Vanilla WoW Experience. There are a lot of things that aren't functioning properly and are nerfed.

This game will be dead on arrival because no one wants to play on a pile of crap platform that isn't true to what the experience should be. People will go and play on free private servers.

It's not even 24hrs since the release of the demo and it's already a train wreck, They need to be told this, not coddled.

I understand where this is coming from, I'm right there with you feeling totally blindsided by the fact I've been following the wow classic development since announcement only to realize yesterday that while I was over the moon excited for wow classic, it probably won't be a complete experience.

The only thing I know is that the developers who were getting roasted yesterday in the diablo Q&A stage probably were not the same developers who made the decision to make it mobile only, and the same can be said here with wow classic.
The people who are going to be doing the wow classic stage probably are not the same people who deal with the server tech and are in charge of the final design so roasting them about something they have no real power over really doesn't do anything to help it just makes the developers who are willing to talk, clam up.

We need to make sure they know that the community isn't happy with the bad stuff, but not in a rude way.
Classic is fail
Diablo announcement was epic fail

How many times have you been banned? 14?

More than that, but I don't pretend to be something I am not. I don't white knight, while being toxic...such as yourself.

You have this perception of yourself that is so wrong. You are not a non toxic, educated, rational member of this community. You are just as quick to knee jerk emotional responses and insults as everyone else here...in fact....you are even more prone to it than most.

They're the ones being paid by Blizzard to stand up and take it they can %*$# well take what Blizzard brought on them. Customer service/pr is a suck job but if it's your job you take it and deal. It matters exactly zilch that you have nothing to do with idiotic decisions by the higher-ups, you stand there and take the customers' best shots with a smile (this is why I no longer work in the field I spent 20+ years in, I got sick of that %^*$).

That was actually a fair question delivered politely, I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like he dropped a profanity riddled "Are you serious?" rant...

At the very least I concead he was being joking around.

But I am concerned that such an event could lead to a precedent that a Blizzcon will devolve into massive protest of people shouting in unison their grievance and booing, or worse a riot (mind you the latter one is an EXTREME suggestion I know, its just what I fear)

A riot would require multiple of us to go outside so no never going to happen.

You've no idea, how badly i want to see 100+ nerds storming/picketing Blizzard HQ over something, anything.
I might die of laughter on that day,But that would be further proof of my suspicion that Americans are getting so pent up over local politic nonsense that they're wrongfully throwing their anger at ''easier'' targets, but that's silly.
The people asking for calm discussion are doing so for a reason.

Throwing insults and tantrums will not get someone to see your side. It will put them into a defensive stance, it is human nature. When someone goes into a defensive stance in a discussion they are no longer receptive to outside input. Basic human psychology.

We haven't even heard enough information to make a logical assumption on where things are headed.

The only blue post that is certain is they are considering sharding in the beginning zones and start of the game. I do not like the idea, but throwing a snowflake tantrum wont get the developers to see why I do not want this feature.

The demo was basically a playable progress report. It's not like added the features into the demo. They are still removing features, and the demo was altered to save regen time since the play time is short. They took out rez sickness for it.
