This last week being a tank was great.

I’ve caused tons of wipes and people not only didn’t get mad, they explained what went wrong how to correct it and complimented everyone on a good run when we timed dungeons.

Honestly its been the most pleasant and talkitive I’ve seen the player base in a good while.

the “Very fragile and volatile just like their health bars” killed me

This season is easy for new tanks to start. Almost every dungeon is a straight path with no skips. It’s so much better than having to play tour guide.

One thing that annoys me is when dps immediately promote the tank to leader and say “when do you want lust?” I don’t have lust on my action bar. I don’t care when you pop it. Lust is a dps cooldown so you 3 dps players can figure it out.

I adore you.

this drives me absolutely nuts as well. I don’t care when you lust, mr. mage/shaman/hunter, they’re your dps cd’s - you tell me when you lust.

unless it’s gambit. then lust first pull so I can go mongo.

I just hate waiting for the ready check for several min only to find out I was promoted to lead but nobody informed me…

There’s a big difference between the start of a season and the middle/end, especially when the content is “new,” either in the form of literal new content or old content being made relevant again as is the case in S4. Everyone’s trying to figure things out together, and not everyone knows or remembers mechanics from 8 years ago.

Give it a month or so and pugs will be back to flaming you for the smallest mistakes because tanks aren’t expected to have lives outside of WoW.

Monks are usually legendary or newbies. Rarely get a monk that isn’t humble.

I tank as a bear as my main and am getting my monk up there. This season has been a struggle bus for me. I feel like I am missing a lot of the required knowledge from having had tp take a break from the game for work issues. That being said, I have leaned hard on guildies for ideas on pulls and strats. This has helped, but to the OP’s original post, yeah it is kinda hard when people are just taking the piss out of you right away for one mistake.

tbf sometimes that is not always ur fault if you are using to to pull agro of a dps and save lives no?

thank you, i was called toxic for telling a healer not to pull a patrol with a miniboss in it after seeing me move away from it. we were already engaged with a pack, my divine res was on CD and i didn’t think i had aggro generation to manage the group. They pulled it anyway, i couldn’t get aggro they wiped the group but it’s my fault because i said if they pulled like that again i was gonna leave.

You wouldn’t be humble either if just taking a drink enabled you to survive a nuclear apocalypse.

just do what your healer says always let them control your character and everything will be fine

I i think you misread me, they tend to be quite and not braggarts

Junkyard is probably the easiest to do as a tank. Just make sure you don’t head to a boss were the bot is flying (and it takes a good min for it to swap after you kill a boss so don’t assume what you see on your map is going to be accurate.) Stand by a pylon on the trog boss. And you kill the big oozes to activate the slime boss. Pull the big robots out of the smoke clouds so they can be dpsed and interrupted.

Almost nothing hits hard in there and the timer is very generous given the seasonal affix plus bots.

Kara is a different story as everything hits like a truck.

i really do try to be kind to my healers because healing is more intricate than people give it credit for and they take healers for granted quite often but I’m just saying let the tanks pull what they feel comfortable with until people get used to the new affix, the new dungeon routes ect.
