My first every toon was a Human Pally on Mal’Ganis, which at the time was around 9:1 H:A.

that’s because it isn’t usually as bad during the day to bg as alliance… but the later it gets, the worse it is.
I bg at the later times so that might explain it. Unless the complaining, giving up, “Let them win” and getting spawn camped is all round

I play midnight est and it’s not bad for alliance. Haven’t played max level in a couple weeks though.
All the kids are asleep. I play around 10am to 4 pm est and we do well. Once 4:30 hits though, we never win.
I’ve also played a few evenings but I work 2nd shift so not always able to get on. Did fine those nights too. Seems hit or miss on both sides tbh. Just one side has shorter queues. We also play different honor brackets so there’s that.
If I play it’s around 8-10ish pm eastern.
Occasionally I’ll be on 5-7am on weekends if I happen to wake up at work time. Everyone else is sleeping anyway.
