Isnt that how it is now ? Is that what you’re saying is that limitation being in effect?
Edit: added sentance for clarification

Ok how bout you run the dungeons and dont get loot but rather earn kill points based on participation. Then all gear is bought from vendor.
Limitation and no incentive. You’re going to see a lot of grinding for stone keeper shards, emblems and orbs. Pigeon holing the premium currency to the daily dungeon was such a bad idea, they abandoned it forever after just one year.
I was thinking about that portion. What i thought about was to add previous tier to vendors for badges from the heroics for a larger price then normal epics that are bought for badges like now. This would possibly get raiders to run to pickup items they didnt get. Could have 10 and 25 prices be set accordingly. Also with RDF i would propose removing the heroic restriction ONLY if you are running RDF. Normally you would lockout making your own groups anways regardless but make the feature appeal more to those that are on the other side of the discussion.
Fair enough perhaps removing it is a better change. Also, perhaps adding them to tank / healer / dps caches that are tied to what is needed in queue would help incentivize those roles to queue more.
A huge problem is that outside 5-mans, there is not a huge demand for dungeon tanks. You barely need them in PVP. Only two get a raid spot.
They should have let trivial but necessary dungeons take the path of least resistance.
Right, i get that … that’s why i suggested the extra cache that is given to tanks and healers, who are usually whats missing and in retail are given an extra reward for queueing, should be something appealing such as orbs for ex. but not necessarily that.
Which would also appeal to others having a dual spec being one of those necessary role(s).
to be a helpful argument… yeah I know, bad argument is bad.
Well, one simple reason is that for PVE, we don’t require NPCs to queue, but for PVP, there must be a queue (based on the current design).
If you just allowed BGs to start as soon as anyone showed up, and create new instances as needed, then the current queue system also could be avoided.
Of course, the reason is based on how the developers designed and developed the game.
Because they are different types of gameplay and need to be handled differently.
I could explain it all to you but most of the time people respond by just ignoring all the facts laid before them and post some snarky comment because they are upset over not getting what they want.
While that may be true, the fundamental reason Blizzard claimed for removal of RDF should still apply to BGs, hence this reaction. It has practically nothing to do with how it works. It’s all about ethics.
i mean if you wanna have RDF that you have to queue in a major city and have no gaurantee of class comp (ie no healers)… i guess we could agree on that…but also keep LFG in so i can actually find a real group
Yeah if they were the same type of gameplay but they arent. Battlegrounds would not function without an automated queue. You would have games against the same premades every night during prime time and then virtually nothing outside that window.
The whole argument is RDF demanders being spiteful towards PvPers because they didn’t get what they want.
To do otherwise would require players to somehow communicate with the opposite faction to organise a Battleground.
WoW is a PvE focussed game. PvP is a sideshow. They can make exceptions to the latter without unwravelling the fabric of the game.
Cross realm Battlegroups did indeed harm the social aspect of the game but was deemed necessary to support a healthy PvP scene. There is no such ‘need’ to support a healthy PvE scene. People are just lazy and don’t want to look for groups.
Yep BG finder but no RDF. Yep that is what you are getting.
I see more people are jumping in this bandwagon.
One of the small shades of difference here is that a BG takes between 20 and 80 participants and a dungeon only takes 5.
Not this stupid argument again. If you want RDF so bad go play final fantasy.
Would rather play Wrath…which had RDF.
Why would I play final fantasy when I prefer wow? Just bringing up a point to improve the game that I love
